It’s funny how the beautiful family home we bought before we had children is now bursting at the seams. We clearly never anticipated the explosion of stuff that came with having one child and with the arrival of Little Sis we are now constantly tripping over toys, children or cats and are looking forward to moving sometime next year. I’m excited at the prospect of gaining space and perhaps the chance to update some of our furniture which we’ve had for years. Little Sis is currently in with us but in a couple of months she’ll need her own space.…

One of the things I had forgotten about having a baby was how much they dislike being washed and changed and Little Sis is no different. She suffers from reflux, just like her Big Brother did, which means we get through plenty of vests and babygros each day. Being a winter baby she needs plenty of wrapping up when we venture out so I was really excited when I was offered a Nod Pod baby blanket to try. Nod Pod baby blanket We were sent a white Nod Pod which is a contemporary version of a baby blanket, designed to…

On the tenth day of Christmas my mummy bought for me – Fire Trucks for Saving, (science kits for kids, an eco game for playing, friends from Sylvania, A Rastamouse that sings, a 3D Puzzle, Club Penguin Gifts, fun festive crafts and a hamster dressed like royalty!) I have to admit that until recently we hadn’t watched any episodes of Fireman Sam! We usually stick to cBeebies but that didn’t stop Edward from recognising a helicopter, one of the range of Fireman Sam Vehicles available from Character Options for £9.99. Help everyone’s favourite hero next door, Fireman Sam save the…

Having a little family of my own really makes me feel like a responsible adult! As soon as Big Brother was born we set up a savings account for him and we’re about to do the same for Little Sis. I must admit that my husband is in control of most of the important financial things, such as the mortgage, the bills and car insurance renewal. I’m very lucky that he deals with all these things as since giving up work my brain is quite mushy. I’d rather be responsible for the domestic side of things and ensure the cupboards…

Mission Earth, a family fun game was designed by children, for children and helps to teach little ones about environmental issues is an exciting way. It costs £17.99 and can be bought from Gibsons Games. This toy is part of my…

On the fifth day of Christmas my mummy bought for me – a Rastamouse that sings! (a 3D Puzzle, Club Penguin Gifts, fun festive crafts and a hamster dressed like royalty!). It’s Day 5 of my Christmas gift guide for little ones. Irie Man! The latest cult show to take the world by storm, pre-schoolers can’t get enough of the colourful adventures of Rastamouse and Da Easy Crew. And if we’re honest – mums can’t either! I can’t help but pop into a Hotel Chocolat whenever I walk past one. On my last visit I snapped up some of their gingerbread truffles, all in the name of research for this blog you understand. The pack contained six truffles, a super soft milk chocolate truffle with yummy gingerbread flavours of cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. To be honest I’m not a huge fan of truffles so these haven’t been my favourite seasonal gingerbread product this year. The gingerbread flavour is lovely though and my husband was happy to polish off the remaining truffles! £3.50 for 6 truffles

I can tell this month is going to go quickly as it’s already time for Day 2 of my 12 days of Christmas gift guide! On the second day of Christmas my mummy bought for me – fun festive crafts (and a hamster dressed like royalty!). Being a crafty mummy I just love this Mould & Paint Christmas set by Great Gizmos. It’s suitable for ages 5+ but Edward and I have had lots of fun with it. The set aims to let the little ones create their very own Christmas ornaments and magnets in this crafty fun-packed kit. Including…

I don’t think you need a special event or anniversary in order to send flowers. Unexpected flowers ‘just because’ are as lovely as ones you expect. There are lots of reasons to send flowers, as a birthday gift or thank you gifts. I’ve always taken photographs of the flowers I’ve received – perhaps because my husband isn’t the most romantic of men! I’ve only received them a handful of times from him, I’m not sure why as I don’t really enjoy boxes of chocolates. My sister on the other hand is always getting bunches of flowers from her various boyfriends…
