We love this time of the year. We have family birthdays and of course the festive season to look forward to. Our diary is filling up fast and we are all excited to catch up with family and friends over the next few months. We are already beginning to stock up on festive food but we thought it would be fun to share a festive drink recipe too. Our Gingerbread White Russian Cocktail is the perfect drink to serve friends this festive season. With a mixture of our favourite spices it adds a gingerbread flavour to a popular White Russian…

Tomorrow there is a huge parade taking place from Hyde Park Corner to Trafalgar Square, followed by a huge party with live music, food and dancing. We will be celebrating at home but I couldn’t resist sharing one last St Patrick’s Day recipe, to make some fun St Patrick’s Day Oreo Pops. December seems to be whizzing by just as quickly as November did. The children are so excited which is lovely to see. They love the excitement of seeing what’s inside their Advent calendars every day. We have some bigger Christmas treats lined up this weekend and I really hope we will get to make a start on building our annual gingerbread house too. I love making Christmas treats and my Chocolate Christmas tree pretzels are always a big hit. They are simple to make so I thought I would share them in case you are in need of a quick chocolate…

Last weekend we visited our local Farmers Market. On the way we spotted that the bushes were full of beautiful, ripe blackberries and we knew we would have to pick some. We picked up a spare bag whilst we were shopping to put our blackberries in. I’ve been meaning to get to a Pick Your Own farm all summer, finally this was our chance to let the children pick and make something with it. We’ve never actually been foraging for blackberries with the children before. It’s something I remember doing with my parents and grandparents and I can still remember…

I love the first few months of the new year. There is so much going on with birthdays and special days that it’s difficult to be bored for a minute. Next week we will be celebrating Pancake Day here in the UK. My husband *always* makes the pancakes in our house so I have been practising so I can make them for a change. Everyone seems to like them served a different way but we’re all agreed that flat pancakes are the way forward. A basic pancakes recipe is cheap and cheerful, it’s what you serve them with that makes…

I’m back with another recipe which must be blogged about because it is so simple and good – Mincemeat palmiers. The other week I told you that we had lots of mincemeat left over from Christmas. We used up some making a delicious Mincemeat and marzipan loaf but there was still some left over and I couldn’t bear to throw it away. So I used it to make yummy mincemeat palmiers. Ingredients to make mincemeat palmiers: 200g mincemeat Zest and juice of 3 clementines 1 x pack of ready-rolled puff pastry 2 tbsp butter 4 tbsp icing sugar 1 egg How to make…

I’m always on the look out for gingerbread recipes and a friend recently introduced me to an amazing Nigella Lawson recipe for Chocolate Gingerbread.
