Doc McStuffins Pet Vet Find & Fetch Findo

A couple of weeks ago my 3 year old reviewed the Doc McStuffins Pet Vet Bag playset, which ties in with the new Doc McStuffins Pet Vet Clinic episodes. Doc has expanded her practice and now looks after pet friends too. We were excited to be sent the new Doc McStuffins Pet Vet Find and Fetch Findo to share with you. Doc McStuffins Pet Vet Find & Fetch Findo Findo is Doc’s cute animatronic toy dog from the TV show. The playset included an interactive Findo, lead, bone and hairbrush. First you need to insert 2 x AAA which are…

Autumn sensory tray with Sylvanian Families

Now my son is back at school Little Sis has been taking an interest in her own toys again. During the holidays she was happy to be directed by her older brother but I’m pleased to see her going back to her own toys now. This week she has been playing Sylvanian Families a lot so I though it would be fun to go on an autumn scavenger hunt and have some nature play. There are plenty of outdoor spaces near us so every day we have looked for conkers, acorns and different leaves. The leaves are changing colour really…

Thomas & Friends Daring Dragon Drop Playset Review

With two children who both love toys you can imagine that space is at a premium in our house. That’s why I’m a fan of Thomas & Friends  Take-n-Play sets. They always fold up so they can be stored easily when not in use. My son has always loved a toy train set and we have a few different sets – a wooden railway, Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play and Thomas & Friends Trackmaster.  For a little boy who enjoys building, vehicles and construction toys he was happy to be sent the new Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play Daring Dragon Drop Playset…

Playmobil City Car and Sunshine Preschool

We were pretty excited to receive a Playmobil delivery recently. You may remember we’re a #PLAYMOBILPlayologist family and were sent two lovely new toys to review. Over the last few years my son has reviewed the Playmobil Police Truck and Speed Boat and the Playmobil Great Asian Castle. This year was Little Sis’ turn and she was delighted to open the Playmobil Sunshine Preschool – perfect as she is starting a new nursery in a couple of weeks. Playmobil toys do not come ready to play straight out of the box so it took me a while to build the…

    Aquabeads Sylvanian Families

You know we love crafting with Aquabeads so we were quite excited to see an Aquabeads Sylvanian Families set when we were in Hamleys toy shop last week. I know my children have plenty of toys but I couldn’t resist buying this set. My 3 year old really enjoys crafting with Aquabeads which surprised me as I thought she would find them too small. However, she’s really good at finding the correct colour and placing it in the right place and I knew she would love this set. Aquabeads Sylvanian Families The Aquabeads Sylvanian Families set is a refill set so…

    Explorer Scavenger Hunt

Today I’m excited to be taking part in the A-Z of Pretend Play Activities Blog Hop hosted by Nicola at Crafty Kids at Home! We chose the letter E for Explorers as my children love to explore. Over the school holidays we explored lots of places from the beach, canals to country houses but our favourite was our overnight stay at Whipsnade Zoo. We took part in a treasure hunt exploring the zoo, helped feed some of the animals and drove around some of the enclosures. The children have talked about our trip to the zoo quite a lot so I…

    Rose Petal Cottage from DreamTown

The weather in London has been quite poor for the last few weeks of the school holidays. Instead of playing outside we have spent more time indoors than we would have liked. My lucky children have been the latest residents of DreamTown as the proud owners of Rose Petal Cottage. This traditional playhouse has been designed to inspire the excitement and imagination of role play games. Rose Petal Cottage from DreamTown is a beautiful indoor playhouse, built to last for years and inspire children to explore the freedom and excitement of imaginative role play. It is packed with interactive features,…

Doc McStuffins Playtime Lotto Game review

Over the school holidays the children were sent some lovely toys to review. My 3 year old really loves the Doc McStuffins Playtime Lotto Game from Jumbo. That was fun! The whole day you have been playing in and around the house taking good care of your friends, and now the time has come to clean up. But where did you leave your stethoscope and your bandages? Can you find all the things you have left behind? The Lotto game consists of 2 game boards that make up Doc’s house, 24 round picture cards, 4 lotto cards, 4 playing figures…

George’s Marvellous Medicine mud kitchen activity

Did you know that the 13th September is Roald Dahl Day? This Summer we started reading our first chapter book and I chose George’s Marvellous Medicine to read with our 5 year old. He soon got used to fewer pictures and the chapter structure. It’s been a great way to get him to re-tell the story to me each night before we read a chapter and see just how much he’s taking in. It’s lovely to re-read stories I enjoyed when I was younger and I can’t think of a more inspiring author to introduce to my children. Roald Dahl…
