I’m so pleased we were able to squeeze in a trip to do some pumpkin carving at Hughenden Manor today. It was a great way to round off a very exciting half term. It’s also one of my favourite National Trust properties. Hughenden Manor was the home of Benjamin Disraeli, once Prime Minister, but also had an important role during the Second World War. Today you can visit part of the house, gardens, and extensive grounds. They also run some really fun events for families. Last year we went along to one of their Apple Days, this time we wanted…

Yesterday we were invited to KidZania London for a turtely awesome skateboarding masterclass to celebrate the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. My children love visiting Kidzania and I knew this would be a fun start to their half term week. My 6 year old loves his mini-skateboard so I knew he would love the opportunity to learn some moves from the professionals at Camp Rubicon. KidZania was the perfect location for the masterclass and as soon as we arrived we were taken to the Stadium and the children were kitted out with knee pads, elbow pads…

Yesterday we were invited to visit Warwick Castle and see how six all new spine-tingling attractions have turned Warwick Castle into The Haunted Castle over Halloween! It’s been a long time since I last visited Warwick Castle so I was looking forward to going back with my children. My 6 year old is currently studying castles in Year 2 so I knew he would love it. A spooktacular Halloween at Warwick Castle Prepare to be scared this half-term at The Haunted Castle, returning this Halloween at Warwick Castle (22-31 October), with six all-new thrills and spine chills. Have you seen The Angry Birds Movie? In it you finally find out why the birds are so angry… The movie takes you to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds – or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red, a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck, and the volatile Bomb have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to. We watched the movie earlier this Summer and my children have had their favourite characters ever since. This has…

I’m sure I’m the least fashionable mum on the school run but I love my children to look good. Luckily they both love to go clothes shopping and have an eye for fashion – perhaps they’ll be taking me shopping when they’re older! Anyway, Boohoo.com recently got in touch and asked if we’d like to review the new Boohoo Kids collection. I find it much quicker and easier shopping online than I do in person so I was delighted to spend a quiet hour with a nice cup of hot tea looking at their site. I was asked to take…

We are so excited to go and see the new stellar-studded animation film Trolls from DreamWorks. The trailers look fun, my daughter insisted I buy her the Trolls sticker album so she is familiar with the characters, and we’re hoping to go tomorrow as a half term treat. A few weeks ago we had fun reviewing the Poppy Style Station and were delighted to be offered the new Trolls Hug Time Bracelet and Poppy Wig to review. These are part of a range of hair play and dress up toys based on the hairy characters, from Just Play. How To Be…

Yesterday we went to Westfield London and I couldn’t resist popping into the massive H&M there to check out a new line of clothing featuring our favourite little rabbit, Miffy. Mercis and fashion retailer H&M have joined forces to launch a range of apparel featuring Dutch artist Dick Bruna’s classic character Miffy. The Miffy x H&M collection comprises of clothing for babies (aged 0-24 months) and children (aged 2-14). Did you know that Miffy is now 61 years old? I love the fact she is as appealing today as the day she was created by Dick Bruna. I’ve always liked…

We all know that children need positive role models which is why I’m keen to encourage my daughter in her love of Doc McStuffins. They are currently learning all about ‘people who help us’ at school and she has been able to tell everyone about Doctors, thanks to Doc McStuffins! Dottie ‘Doc’ McStuffins, a six year old girl, ‘fixes’ toys, with a little help from her stuffed animal friends, Stuffy, Hallie, Lambie and Chilly. This year, Doc has been transported to McStuffinsville to become the Chief Resident of the Toy Hospital, where she and her toy friends will help toys…

We’re a family who love being outdoors and often take a picnic out with us. I like to know exactly what my children are eating and the whole family seem to enjoy the way I make lunch! My youngest started school last month and has been taking a packed lunch every day. She loves having a lunch break with all her friends and thankfully her lunch box is always empty at the end of the day. I’ve had a few years’ practice perfecting the art of the packed lunch and have become quite quick at whipping up a healthy packed…
