    Pass the Pigs! {game review}

    We’re currently away and had to be quite careful what we packed due to lack of space in the car. This was especially hard for my children as there are so many things they can’t possibly live without! The one thing they both agreed on was Pass the Pigs, a really fun game we’ve been playing recently. There are two fun Pass the Pigs games available, both offering weatherproof playtime fun: Pass the Pigs and Giant Pass the Pigs. Pass the Pigs comes in a travel case with two cute dice pigs, pencils and score pad. Giant Pass the Pigs includes two…

    Somerset Lavender {kids in lavender fields]

    So today we finally made it to a lavender field. I’ve really wanted to go to the one at Hitchin but so far we haven’t made it. We’re visiting my mum for a few days so decided to visit Somerset Lavender. Lately my Instagram feed has been full of happy children standing in lavender. I was wondering what my children would think. I love lavender. We grow it and use it at home (lavender play dough anyone?) and a few years ago we visited Isle of Wight Lavender and stocked up on lavender products. I’ve also baked lavender shortbread which you…

    Coping with kids and chicken pox

    Photo by Josh Applegate on Unsplash I love the school holidays. One of the biggest problems with school is how quickly my children pick up any bug which is going around. School attendance is marked on their end of term reports and I wasn’t really surprised to see how many days they had both off – never at the same time of course! They both caught chicken pox this year. I actually thought they had both had it a few years ago so when I heard that chicken pox was going round I wasn’t too worried. Unfortunately over Christmas I noticed my daughter…

    Peppa’s Family Home toy review

    I can’t imagine a time when my daughter doesn’t love Peppa Pig. It’s one of her favourite characters and she loves watching the cartoon and playing with her Peppa toys. Although as a parent it feels like I’ve watched *all* the episodes, there were actually new episodes last month! Did you watch them? New episodes of Peppa Pig on Milkshake Yep, last month (finally) new episodes of Peppa Pig were shown on Milkshake (Channel 5 for the non-parents out there). It was quite a relief to watch them and meet the new character, Molly Mole and her family. Peppa’s Family…

    Lego Scooby Doo Blowout Beach Bash Movie at Legoland Windsor

    Last week we were invited to Legoland Windsor which was amazing as the children have been asking to go for ages. My husband took the day off work and off we went. Luckily we only live about half an hour away so we got there just as the park opened. Lego Scooby Doo Blowout Beach Bash Movie Our first stop was the 4D cinema to watch the Lego Scooby Doo Blowout Beach Bash Movie. I didn’t even know you could watch films at Legoland but you can. The cinema was by the Imagination Centre, and was huge but there were…

    Horrible Histories – More Best of Barmy Britain!

    Earlier in the Summer holidays I enjoyed a day out with my 5 year old, watching The Emoji Movie. Today I got to spend the day with my 7 year old as we were invited to see the new production of Horrible Histories – More Best of Barmy Britain! at the Garrick Theatre in London. We all want to meet people from history. The trouble is everyone is dead! So it’s time to prepare yourselves for a special production of Horrible Histories featuring MORE of your favourite characters from our barmy past – and a brand new scene with wordy Will!…

    Getting ready for back to school {ECCO shoes review}

    Our class WhatsApp group has been surprisingly busy during the first two weeks of the school holidays. There has been lots of chatter about school uniform, a subject close to my heart. My children seem to grow quicker during the holidays than they do at any other time of the year. We have already been clothes shopping as my daughter has gone through the knees of all her trousers so I couldn’t help but pick up some school uniform items too. Every year the list of things needed for school seems to get longer. My son starts in a new…

    Nerf Modulus Regulator review

    My children have been gifted some really amazing toys to play with and review over the Summer holidays. It’s a hard job putting toys through their paces but I try really hard to make sure we review anything thoroughly, before we share it here on our blog. My son loves his Nerf collection and was so excited to open the new Nerf Modulus Regulator from Hasbro! Take a look at our unboxing video here. Nerf Modulus Regulator For the ultimate in high-performance sports action, it’s Nerf or Nothin’! Achieve unprecedented levels of customisation as you build the Nerf Modulus Regulator blaster…

    Our experience at Paw Patrol Live

    We’ve had such a busy week but it’s been loads of fun. Yesterday we had booked tickets for Paw Patrol Live at the SSE Arena, Wembley. My children have been seeing adverts for this live show for ages so I was really excited that we were able to treat them to tickets. We managed to keep it a secret until we were outside – my daughter didn’t question why I had dressed her head to toe in her Paw Patrol clothes or given her her Marshall cushion to take out for the day! We drove to Wembley and when we were outside…
