    Hackney City Farm {and Farmerama giveaway}

    One of the activities on our list of things to do this summer was go to a City Farm. Fortunately last week Edward and I were invited down to Hackney City Farm to have a look around and hear about an exciting new website where you can be your own farmer. We enjoyed our visit and Edward met pigs, sheep, goats, a donkey and lots of geese and chickens for the first time. He didn’t exactly react as I thought he would and was scared of some of the animals! I’m hoping a couple more visits and he’ll be chasing…

    Our Half-Term Adventure: London Aquarium

    We had an adventure last week when we hopped on the tube and ventured into central London. Wednesday was my husband’s birthday and we thought we’d head to the SEA LIFE London Aquarium for the day. Pre-baby we used to do pop into town at the drop of a hat but with a small child in tow it takes a bit more planning. Anyway, Edward loves the tube and we soon arrived on the South Bank.  Unfortunately we hadn’t remembered that it was half-term and it was also overcast with the promise of rain. The size of the queue outside…

    Making momentoes with Julie Arkell

    Just before Christmas I was lucky enough to take part in a workshop with Julie Arkell. If you haven’t heard of her, where have you been! She’s a London-based contemporary artist who is well known for her papier mache dolls and I was really excited to find she was running a workshop at Sally Bourne Interiors. I spent all day with Julie and a group of like-minded women and it was fantastic. I don’t think I’ve ever spent a whole day sewing but it was amazing, lovely to sit around a table, sew and chat. Julie’s recent work reflects vintage…

    My lucky streak

    It’s been a while since I have posted about my recent competition winnings. I’m finding less time so enter competitions as Edward is down to two naps during the day and they are getting shorter (already! he is only 8 months!). However I have had some great wins over the last few months. First of all I was lucky enough to win a Belling Butler in a Twitter competition. I’m not quite sure where we’re going to put it in our little terraced house but it will be great for dinner parties! Secondly I’ve been lucky enough to win a…

    Vintage blanket cushion

    We decided to go home for a few days! My husbands’ health is improving so much quicker than last time that we’ve decided to return home for a few days before Christmas. We miss being a threesome, miss our cats and doing our own thing although we are incredibly grateful to my mum for letting us stay with her. On Saturday we’ll be getting on the ferry and heading back to London. I am so excited as I’ll be able to attend the Julie Arkell workshop on Sunday too. Vintage blanket cushion Today I finished a cushion for my youngest…

    Easily distracted

    I love this little video I took of Edward today. We had lunch at Giraffe and always try to feed Edward before our meals arrive. Edward is at the age where he’s distracted very easily so eating out is a bit of a struggle – it’s fun though 🙂   [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o60RlgfFEYU&fs=1&hl=en_US]
