    Liberty fabric envelope {a Valentine make}

    I love making handmade gifts so today I’m sharing a sweet little Liberty fabric envelope I made. I thought this would be a fun sewing project and would be just the right size for a card and some sweets. I really enjoyed choosing the right fabric. Surely this is the best part of the creative process? I admit I got completely sidetracked as my fabric stash is all over the place since we decorated our spare room. I was looking for some Liberty pieces I knew I had and found so many other prints and patterns which reminded me of…

    We are excited to work with Bostik again this year to produce some family friendly crafts. We are huge fans of Bostik products and today we’re sharing a really fun Valentine craft. We were sent a wonderful box of craft products including Bostik White Glu and Glu Dots. These products are staple for our craft cupboard and are so useful. Recently I’ve been experimenting with some heart-shaped dies and the children were keep to use the cut outs. We combined them with some beautiful smooth pebbles to make a fun Valentine heart stone craft for kids which also doubles as…

    How to make a winter pomander

    I had forgotten how much I love January. We are still in deepest, darkest winter and we’ve had some beautiful blue skies recently. We’ve never made many Winter crafts but this year we are fully embracing it! So far we’ve made a really fun winter ice lamp, mistletoe and holly and berries sun catchers. Today we’re sharing how to make a winter pomander. We bought a large orange and used the ribbon and cloves which came in our recent hygge-in-a-box box. I also found a metal skewer which helped with the cloves. How to make a winter pomander A pomander…

    Simple Thank You cards for kids to make {free printable}

    I love making homemade Thank you cards. Every year my children receive lovely Christmas gifts and I want them to put some effort into the thank you cards they send. When they were younger we sent homemade photocards but now they can write their names (and my Year 2 son can write a lot more!) then I want them to make their own cards. This year I designed my own card. They are super simple but there is some scope for creativity! Simple Thank You cards for kids to make I added the words Thank You in large letters to…

    DIY gingerbread body scrub (easy kid-made gifts)

    I love making gifts to give at Christmas. Picking up something in the shops or adding a product to my online shopping basket is too easy. Homemade gifts require thought and time and are usually quite fun to make. I encourage my children to plan and make their own gifts too. My 6 year old son is already pretty good at making things, his speciality is sewing, so this craft is one I helped my 4 year old to make. We made a delicious gingerbread body scrub – it’s relatively cheap to make and perfect for little hands. Ingredients to…

    Pixelated mosaic heart decoration

    We recently spent the day in the pretty town of Marlow where we came across a lovely pop up shop called the Craft Coop. This is a social enterprise business supporting over 150 artisans based in and around Maidenhead. Craft Coop takes over empty shops in town centres, bringing them back to life and offering a space for local artisans to showcase their products, as well as giving people the opportunity to purchase lovely handcrafted items. The Craft Coop in Marlow was just my kind of shop and one product which really stood out was the pixelated mosaic kits from Teresa Mills. I was…

    Children’s drawings are the funniest thing

    My children’s drawings are the funniest thing. I’m a bit of a hoarder and keep a lot of their drawings because they really make me smile. My 6 year old recently did a hilarious drawing of The Queen which you can see here. His drawing style has developed a lot since he’s been in Year 1 and I love the pictures he brings home which often feature a mash up of Star Wars and whatever he has been learning in school that day. My 4 year has only recently started drawing people.  We bought a very cool book for her…
