Earlier this year we all enjoyed a screening of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul. We all absolutely loved it! In Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, The Heffley family road trip to Meemaw’s 90th birthday celebration takes a wild detour thanks to Greg’s newest scheme to attend a video gaming convention. Based on one of the best-selling book series of all time, this crazy, cross-country adventure turns into an experience The Heffleys will never forget. We’ve had a really lovely half term break. My lucky children have an Inset Day today whilst I’m back at work for a couple of hours. I’ve been super organised and got their school uniforms ready and PE kits packed for when they do go back on Tuesday 🙂 We were all looking forward to making some half term memories and we packed in quite a lot. We spent a few days with my mum in Wiltshire and pottered around enjoying the weather and relaxing. We took the children to Bratton Camp where they could run around but tried not…

Good morning everyone! Monday again but my children have an Inset Day today so we’re very thankful that half term is lasting an extra day! Time for my weekly Monday happy things post, re-visiting the things that have made me happy in the previous week. Monday happy things {week 125} As it was half term we went away and visited the parentals. This involved quite a lot of driving and some extremes of weather. We started off with snow and freezing temperatures, ending the week with warm sunshine, finally able to shred the layers of coats, hats and gloves. You’ve…

We got back from our half term adventures yesterday. We’d had a brilliant few days away and came back to a warm-ish house and a well-packed freezer. I’ve learned my lesson and now make sure to stock the freezer with bread, milk and something I know will make everyone happy for that all-important first meal back at home. Pizza is a firm family favourite so I know I can never go wrong with any of Chicago Town’s Deep Dish range. My youngest always chooses to have pizza when it’s her turn to pick dinner and we eat it at least once…

Half term has whizzed by. We didn’t seem to sit down at all which was good although I am feeling in need of a little holiday now! I’m so happy to be sitting down writing this, hot cup of tea by my side, listening to the hum of the washing machine. As much as I love my kids, I was happy to see them off to school this morning! Instead of my usual 5 favourite things from the previous week I thought I would write a recap of our half term adventures. We started our week with a trip to…

It’s Monday and it’s half term which makes me very happy. This half term has felt long and I am glad the children can relax for a bit. Don’t let’s mention the ridiculous of amount of homework they were given considering they are in Reception and Year 2! Anyway, time for my weekly Monday Happy List post. Last week both my children were ill and missed a few days of school. It’s tough having sick kids at home but they both seem to be on the mend now. We did manage to make it to Parents’ Evening and they both had…

It’s been a long time since I last visited Warwick Castle so I was looking forward to going back with my children. My 6 year old is currently studying castles in Year 2 so I knew he would love it. A spooktacular Halloween at Warwick Castle Prepare to be scared this half-term at The Haunted Castle, returning this Halloween at Warwick Castle (22-31 October), with six all-new thrills and spine chills. We’re a family that enjoys eating out. My lovely new kitchen is not quite finished so when we were invited to sample the new menu at our local Café Rouge I jumped at the chance. It’s been a while since we last visited our local Café Rouge. It’s housed in a gorgeous old building on the High Street and we usually go when we want a grown up lunch date. However the invitation was for the whole family so off we went. My children were more than happy with the Children’s Menu which was a fixed price of £6.95 for…
