Monday happy things {week 125}

Good morning everyone! Monday again but my children have an Inset Day today so we’re very thankful that half term is lasting an extra day! Time for my weekly Monday happy things post, re-visiting the things that have made me happy in the previous week.

As it was half term we went away and visited the parentals. This involved quite a lot of driving and some extremes of weather. We started off with snow and freezing temperatures, ending the week with warm sunshine, finally able to shred the layers of coats, hats and gloves. You’ve got to love our crazy British weather.

It’s always lovely to visit familiar places as you know you are going to enjoy them. We had *lots* of picnics on our travels and explored Iron Age barrows, medieval castles, and some shops too…

My husband treated me to an Orla Kiely rucksack in a gorgeous Bonnie Bunnie print. I have been after a rucksack for a while and the print is perfect for Spring time. He treated himself to an Apple Watch so I guess he felt guilty about spending all that money on himself!

I was excited to find out that I had been ranked number 1 parent blog. I know that these things shouldn’t matter but it’s always nice to hear that some strange algorithm likes me.

We finished half term with a trip to our local farm for a friends birthday party. My daughter has been invited to a ridiculous number of birthday parties since she started Reception. They are a great way for running off her huge amounts of energy but it was lovely to have one outside rather than in another Church hall.

I have one more day to enjoy with my children before they head back to school so I’m off to spend it with them. Have a great week!
