A while ago my daughter and I visited a fantastic exhibition at the Royal Academy, the Joseph Cornell Wanderlust exhibition. He was an American artist famed for his collages and assemblages. I found his work so inspiring so my daughter and I made a little Easter shadow box with some of the contents of our latest Bostik Blogger craft box. Supplies needed to make an Easter shadow box: blu tack plastic eggs chick pale yellow shredded paper buttons brown paper How to make an Easter shadow box: I made a pretty paper backdrop for the back of our shadow box using…

We’ve been Playmobil Playologists for the last few years and my children absolutely love receiving Playmobil eggs for Easter. They receive plenty of chocolate eggs from friends and family so these plastic eggs and toys are a great alternative. This year they were sent two of the Playmobil Eggs. There are 4 different toys available, each in a different coloured plastic shell. Little Sis received the Mermaid with Seahorses and Big Brother the Soccer Player with Goal. Both eggs contained lots of pieces so you need to build the toys. Neither took very long to put together and each toy…

We used a few Playmobil eggs as containers to grow cress in which was fun (and lovely to eat something we had grown ourselves). Today I’m going to show you how to upcycle a Playmobil Easter egg to make simple Easter egg and Marshmallow popcorn – a perfect way to use up leftover Easter eggs! Our Easter decorations have been looking a little sparse this year. We’ve had fun making Duck Tape Easter Eggs and yesterday made a sweet Easter kinder surprise wreath which I thought I would share. I didn’t come up with myself, I found the idea on Pinterest here and made my own version. How to make an Easter kinder surprise wreath It’s super easy and all you need to make the wreath is 14 empty Kinder surprise egg shells. Then comes the fun part, take the lid of one and the base of another and pop them together. Simple! Then connect…

Earlier this month I bought a huge tin of chalkboard paint at my local DIY store. I made a magnetic Scrabble board which I keep meaning to tell you all about. There was a lot of paint leftover so I used some to make chalkboard Easter eggs. Here’s how I did it – Equipment needed to make chalkboard Easter eggs: Styrofoam eggs Chalkboard paint Brush White Spirit Chalk How to make chalkboard Easter eggs: First I painted my styrofoam eggs. This was a little tricky as they were small and slippy so I found an empty box, put four pins…

This is my weekly opportunity to remember some of my highlights of the previous week and it’s been pretty busy. We really enjoyed a trip to The Art of The Brick exhibition on Brick Lane. It features over 100 models by artist Nathan Sawaya all made from Lego and was pretty inspiring. Whilst out in the West End we spotted a couple of decorated Shaun the Sheep statues. My favourite was the one sponsored by Cath Kidston near their Covent Garden store. Little Sis loved being a Princess thanks to some Disney Magic at the Cinderella exhibition we scored free…
