A while ago my daughter and I visited a fantastic exhibition at the Royal Academy, the Joseph Cornell Wanderlust exhibition. He was an American artist famed for his collages and assemblages. I found his work so inspiring so my daughter and I made a little Easter shadow box with some of the contents of our latest Bostik Blogger craft box.
Supplies needed to make an Easter shadow box:
blu tack
plastic eggs
chick
pale yellow shredded paper
buttons
brown paper
How to make an Easter shadow box:
I made a pretty paper backdrop for the back of our shadow box using a piece of brown card and the woodgrain embossing folder from Sizzix. I am really enjoying using my Sizzix Big Shot Plus and the embossing folders are a great way to jazz up plain paper.
My daughter attached it to the back of the box with small pieces of blu tack.
She loved looking through our crafty box, especially the colourful buttons, so added these to the back of the box with more blu tack. Blu tack is great for this kind of thing and I had no worries about her using it.
Then we took the shredded paper and placed it at the bottom of the box, added the little nest and chick and some of the colourful eggs.
The children thought this made a fun decoration and the blu tack has held everything in place nicely.
This is so lovely! I’ve been wanting to make a shadow box for a while. I might suggest this to my gran for her and I to make – she absolutely loves her crafts!
