I’ve written a few posts about the Queen’s 90th birthday now. I’m a bit of a Royalist and want my children to understand why we have a Royal family and why they’re relevant today. When I started looking for inspiration on Pinterest (my go to place for this kind of thing) I was surprised how few crafts I could find, which is why I wrote a post called 10 crafts to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday which is proving really popular. iChild got in touch to share their range of printables and activities around The Queen’s 90th birthday. iChild.co.uk is a small…

My children love Elmer the Patchwork Elephant. He is a loveable character with an important message for children (and adults too!) – “Why fit in when you were born to stand out?”. We had so much fun painting our ceramic elephant to look like Elmer! The first Elmer Day will be held on May 28th 2016. There are events all over the country to celebrate and I have brought together 12 of my favourite Elmer the Elephant crafts to help celebrate Elmer Day. 12 Elmer the Elephant crafts to celebrate Elmer Day Hama bead elephants from Jennifer’s Little World Elmer…

I’m always surprised that my children love anything with small beads but they do. It’s been drilled in to them that they have to be careful, but they are, and I love that the benefits of this kind of toys are huge. Both children love Aquabeads and I like the fact the beads stick with a simple spray of water. Last week we received one of the new Aquabeads Playsets to review – the Minnie Mouse Playset. We’d actually seen this Playset in our local toy shop so my 4 year old was really happy to open it. I think this is…

My children enjoy receiving subscription boxes as much as I do. We’ve already tried some crafty ones but were excited to hear about BKD Mini Bakers Club, perfect for my little mini Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood. The boxes are personalised which is a lovely touch and come filled with activities. We received the gingerbread biscuit kit which my daughter really enjoyed opening. Each baking box is personally addressed to your child and include a different flavour BKD artisan baking mix (100% Natural) along with a beautifully illustrated baking guide full of exciting baking themed craft projects. There are instructions…

Each month we are sent a surprise box of crafting supplies and a new Bostik product to try. This month the theme was the weather and we received the Fine & Wide Glu Pen from Bostik. This is a clever glu stick with two ends (one thin and one thick) which makes it perfect for all kinds of craft projects. We have been experiencing lots of crazy English weather lately so the contents of the craft box were great for us to talk about the weather. Inside were lots of foam weather stickers, wooden pegs, the Glu Pen and other…

You all know how much I love my adult colouring books. I now have 2 shelves full of them from Orla Kiely to Vogue covers and everything in between. They are my favourite thing to pick up when I need some quiet time away from a screen. I’m always Instagram-ming my latest title and my only teeny tiny complaint is the size of them. I think my friends would tell you I’m a tiny bit impatient to fill in a hugely intricate design on an A4 sheet. Which is why I’m really enjoying the fact that the adult colouring book…

We’re really enjoying crafting around the theme of the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations. Both of the children are taking part in special tea parties at school this week and getting dressed up in red, white and blue clothes. We’ve carried on the fun at home with this special Queen’s 90th birthday sun catcher craft which we’re sharing today. Queen’s 90th birthday sun catcher craft We love sun catcher crafts as they are so quick and easy. We used a blank template of the Queen from iChild.co.uk, you need to create a free account to download it. Both children went over the outline…

We’ve been having a lot of fun commemorating the Queen’s 90th birthday. We’ve been busy with some of our own crafts (you can find them listed below) and my 6 year old is taking part in a special tea party for the Queen’s birthday this week at school. He is always keen to carry on crafting at home so was excited to receive a bundle of resources from iChild to help celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. He loved looking through the educational resources we were sent. He carefully divided them into the activities he wanted to do and the others were put…
