Big Brother takes a real interest in the kitchen and food which I want to encourage. So when I spotted a delicious looking recipe for Chocolate-Beet cupcakes in the latest issue of Gurgle magazine I thought we would try it together. It required a bit of thought as we needed to buy raw beetroot, cook them and leave them to cool before we started baking. BB loved mixing the ingredients together and tasting the raw mixture! *****Giveaway is now closed and the winner is Helen***** You probably won’t be surprised to hear that I’m a huge fan of the The Gingerbread Man story. I have a couple of versions of the story but recently came across a beautifully illustrated version from Child’s Play which brings the classic fairy tale up to date. The book contains lots of lift up flaps so you can get really involved in seeing how the story unfolds. I never tire of reading this story to my children and my son loves reading it with me. What could be better to accompany…

One of my favourite museums in London is the Imperial War Museum and we’ll be popping along between Christmas and New Year for a last look round the 1940s house which is due to close on the 2nd January 2012. The house, which is at the heart of the well-loved family exhibition The Children’s War, is all dressed up for a traditional Christmas in 1945 and this is the last chance to see it before the exhibition…
