Swapping like a mad person

Over the summer I was busy swapping like a mad person, trying to give me something to think about other than nappies and wiping noses. I took part in two fab craft swaps around the theme of the Jubilee.

First up was God Save the Queen swap! hosted by Hookin’ with Laa Laa. We had to send things relating to Britain and Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee. Items were plentiful and I sent a union flag notebook, Diamond Jubilee keyring, napkins and cross stitch, as well as some spectacular Jubilee sunglasses to my partner Crafty Mum. Hales sent me some lovely gifts including a fan patriotic notebook which is perfect for my obsessive list making.

The second swap was a Jubilee swap organised by the lovely Lakota.

I love her swaps because she loves vintage like me and at least one item was to be thrifted, one handmade and one fitting the Jubilee theme. I found a brilliant vintage Coronation necklace which I sent to my partner Madison along with a Cath Kidston Buckingham Palace mirror and handmade red, white and blue heart hanger. Madison kindly sent me colourful paper chains and a cheery gingerbread man to add to my collection.

I’ve just signed up for a Hookin’ with Laa Laa’s Advent Swap. I had loads of fun making things for it last year and enjoyed opening a little present every day. Sign ups are open until the 20th September if you’re interested 🙂
