Posted on October 19, 2023 by jenny

It’s been a while since we shared a book review with you but as big fans of classical music I am excited to tell you about The Very Young Person’s Guide to Ballet Music In partnership with Classic FM. This lovely picture book is accompanied by 10 sound clips of child-friendly pieces that are perfect for ages 4-7 years old.

The Very Young Person’s Guide to Ballet Music

The Very Young Person’s Guide to Ballet Music is the perfect gift book this Christmas for young children starting music and dance lessons or for those with an interest in ballet. Pull on your pointe shoes and join Leo and Mia as they explore beautiful scenes inspired by some of ballet’s most loved music, including Giselle, Don Quixote and Spartacus.

The Very Young Person's Guide to Ballet Music

This beautifully illustrated, original story is a magical reimagining for little ones and families that teaches children basic ballet positions and introduces them to composers of some of the most memorable ballets. Every spread features fascinating facts about the ballet, performers, composers, and the music, while keeping readers engaged with fun, hidden games such as spotting Matilda the mouse!

Young readers can discover iconic moments including Swan Lake’s Dance of the Cygnets, The Clog Dance from La Fille Mal Gardée, and Don Quixote’s Dance of the Matadors. Original and enchanting illustrations capture the beautiful story of the ballet, while the sound button brings the composer’s dazzling pieces to life. The Very Young Person’s Guide to Ballet Music is guaranteed to delight and inspire.
