Monday Happy List

Sunday Happy Things {Week 434}

heart sampler

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while although now I’m moved it to Sunday. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to sit down and write.

Sunday Happy Things {Week 434}

I’ve been making anything I can to celebrate National Embroidery Month. I pulled out all the February themed craft boxes I had and have been stitching them. So far I’ve made some cross stitch hearts on felt, some more cross stitch and the Cotton Clara subscription box 21 featuring a fun heart sampler made up of 8 different stitches. I used Trellis Stitch, Satin Stitch, Chain Stitch, Split Filling Stitch, Basket Weave Stitch, French Knots, Seed Stitch and Split Back Stitch, some of which I hadn’t used before.

Red Onion Ruislip

We treated ourselves to a couple of meals out over the weekend and enjoyed brunch at the Red Onion in Ruislip where I had their amazing vegan breakfast. Then we walked down to the local Farmers Market where we stocked up on some treats for the weekend.

I was excited to get my hands on an advanced copy of Homecoming by Kate Morton, one of my favourite authors.  An epic novel that spans generations, Homecoming asks what we would do for those we love, and how we protect the lies we tell.

We watched Black Panther: Wahanda Forever which came out on Disney+ last week. We loved the first film and the second film was just as good, I think they made it work without King T’Challa and I liked the way they paid tribute to him.

Have a great week – only one week until half term!

    I have been to the Red Onion as we have friends who live in Ruislip, not been for a long time though. I am counting the days until college breaks up
