Monday Happy List

Sunday Happy Things {Week 430}

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to sit down and write.

Sunday Happy Things {Week 430}

January is usually a quiet month for us, and one where we plan work on the house. We booked to have solar panels installed last year and the company keep letting us down on the installation of them. They are supposed to be coming tomorrow and the house has been a bit of a mess as we’ve had to clear part of the loft in anticipation of the work.

Along with boxes everywhere we thought it would be a good time to re-arrange the living room. We’ve had a huge tv unit for the last few years which we’ve grown tired of. We’ve wanted a fireplace to give the living room some focus so we spent the weekend dismantling the tv unit. We haven’t actually ordered a fireplace yet but at least we’ve been able to move furniture around so we can see what the space will look like. There were trips to the tip and charity shop as we needed to get rid of a lot!

I think the kids were happy to go back to school (who can tell?). My daughter received a certificate of merit in her first week back which she was pleased about.

Have you watched The Menu on Netflix starring Ralph Fiennes, Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult? It was a bit of a horror meets satire meets comedy film. It was pretty good to watch although to me Ralph Fiennes will always be Voldemort.

macrame christmas trees

The weather was truly dreadful over the weekend so I spent some time working on the projects in the Winter Craftpod box. I also tried my hand at macrame trees (which should have been Christmas decorations) and really enjoyed the process. I have a few more macrame kits to try.

    Workmen are so pesky! I hope you got the solar panels installed. Having a shift around of furniture always gives a place a new fresh look. I am planning to do the same with my bedroom when I get some motivation!

    I hope you get your solar panels in and not been let down again. We always use January as a clear out month and need to book a skip at some stage so we can get started

    I’ve heard some really good things about the menu so I may need to try and give it a watch. We haven’t done any furniture rearranges, but I always love changing up how a room looks x

    I think it’s a good idea to get rid of the tv console and make space for a fireplace. It will definitely add character to your home. I am looking forward to watching the Menu on Netflix. I didn’t have time yet, but hopefully this weekend.

    I know what you mean about the kids being back at school – who knows if they’re enjoying it or not? I know mine are very tired but they seem happier and less restless.
