Monday Happy List

Sunday Happy Things {Week 431}

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to sit down and write.

Sunday Happy Things {Week 431}

Last week went really quickly as work is so busy at the moment. Luckily we enjoyed a team away day at Missenden Abbey. It was great to have a day out of the office, and a delicious lunch too.

January can be a quiet month but we usually do a lot of work at home. Over the weekend we tidied up the garden and took down our old bike shed which was just too small for the kids bikes. We’re going to replace it with a larger bike shed, as well as getting our gate fixed. It’s great seeing the garden come back to life – I just can’t wait to spend more time in it.

On Saturday we went to Autosport International at Birmingham NEC. There was a 45 minute live action show which was amazing, and then we spent the rest of the day looking round the exhibition.  There was lots to see and the kids went on a simulator and tried some computer games which they enjoyed. It’s been a long time since we went to a large show like that but it was fun.

I finished reading Mrs Van Gogh by Caroline Cauchi which I really enjoyed. I love historical fiction and I enjoyed reading about Vincent Van Gogh from a different perspective.

Since we re-organised the living room I’ve lost a lot of storage which gave me the opportunity to clear out. I’ve bagged up loads of craft supplies for the charity shop which felt great. I’ve tried to clear out all the crafts I no longer do, which has made room for the crafts I still enjoy. I’ve tidied up my sidebar to show the list of crafts I want to work on this year. I made loads of embroidery hoops last year, and have some beautiful ones to stitch this year and hopefully improve my technique.

    Ooh would love to see your embroidery hoops – do you have them on here somewhere or on Instagram? 🙂

    Autosport sounds like fun. I think mine would be staying in the simulator all day they’d loooove that!!! They are very much into computer games.

    I am looking forward for warmer weather as well, to start preparing my garden for spring. At the moment it looks very sad, all frosty. All the flowers around my house, which survived for the past two winters, have died.
