Monday Happy List

Sunday Happy Things {Week 421}

Sunday Happy Things

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to sit down and write. I’m mixing things up a little by posting this weekly post on Sunday instead of Monday!

Sunday Happy Things {Week 421}

Despite the weather to went Trick or Treating on Halloween. We went out with some friends and the kids enjoyed dressing up and seeing all the wonderful decorations. Some people had even dressed up to answer the door! My daughter was very happy with her Halloween sweets, although we hardly had any visitors so have a lot of sweets left too.

I finally got round to planting our Spring bulbs. We managed to dig up and save all of our Spring bulbs when they finished flowering earlier this year. When we took them out of the shed we found a mouse in the box (!) but the bulbs were fine so my son helped me plant them all. Hopefully we will have a lovely display next year. I also re-potted the garlic (again). It’s been going crazy with all the rain we keep having and we’re enjoying watching them grow.

I love putting together my Christmas Gingerbread Gift Guide and I published it last week. There’s already plenty of gingerbread products in the shops and I have a few fun gingerbread kits to make with the kids at the weekend.

I haven’t felt like stitching much lately so I decided to pick up an embroidery kit I’ve had for a while. The Pixels & Purls Gingerbread House Embroidery Kit was a gift from my husband and is nice and simple with only a few stitches. I’ve been picking it up in the evenings.

On Saturday we had a lovely family lunch with my mum and sister to celebrate my sister’s birthday. It was really nice to get together again.

Have a great week!

    I must have somehow missed your gingerbread Christmas gift guide. That sounds like a fun post. I must pop over and get some gift inspiration.

    I started cross stitching again last week, which I haven’t done for years and got right back into it. I will have to check out your gingerbread gift guide

    I really love that gingerbread house you are stitching. And I haven’t seen your gift guide yet, so will pop over and have a look.

    I didn’t take out my spring bulbs after they flowered. Hopefully they will come out again next year, as they are still in the ground. I did struggled with slugs eating them though, which are so much harder to get rid of than a mouse 🙂
