Family Life film review

The pawfect afternoon {Show Dogs film review}

My 6 year old just loves dogs. She really wants a dog of her own but it’s just not practical at the moment. Instead she has to make do with cuddly toy dogs, books about dogs and films about dogs. We missed Show Dogs when it was released earlier this year so were happy to be sent a copy to watch at home. Yesterday we enjoyed a quiet afternoon at home which was perfect for snuggling up under a blanket and watching Show Dogs.

Show Dogs film review

Show Dogs filmHave you heard of Show Dogs? It’s the pawfect family film, following the story of one wily police dog as he goes deep undercover as… a show dog.

Follow the rebel dog with a cause, Max (Ludacris), who reluctantly teams up with a human FBI agent Frank (Will Arnett) to recover a stolen baby panda. A hot tip leads Max and Frank to Las Vegas and unfamiliar territory; the world’s most exclusive dog show. To stop Max barking up the wrong tree, he must go undercover as a contestant to get the lowdown from his fellow canines. Along the way the street-wise Rottweiler and his hapless human must learn to work together; with help from their new friends, the crime-fighting duo, hot on the smugglers tails, must sniff out another kidnapping plot to save the day.

Max’s dog-eared determination wouldn’t be enough without his cohort of canine companions; Philippe (Stanley Tucci; The Devil Wears Prada, Hunger Games), Daisy (Jordin Sparks; Left Behind, The Grace of Jake), Spinkles (Gabriel Iglesias; Coco, Ferdinand), Karma (Shaquille O’Neal; The Lego Movie, Scary Movie 4) and Dante (Alan Cumming; The Good Wife, Battle of the Sexes).

Show Dogs is a fun, family film. We all enjoyed watching it and would definitely recommend it.

Show Dogs is available on Digital Download now and Blu-ray and DVD on 1st October, courtesy of Entertainment One.

    It sounds like a fun family film with a plot that reminds me of Miss Congeniality!
