Back to school - for me!

September is Back to School – for me!

Posted on September 4, 2020June 15, 2023 by jenny

As much as I have loved spending time with my children since their school went to online learning, I knew September would mark a new chapter for all of us. They were a little apprehensive to return to the classroom after 5 months but are both happy to be back at school. They are both in different year group bubbles but I have so much confidence that the school is doing everything they can to keep them safe.

Back to school – for me!

With my children back at school I had time to think about me! It’s easy to put your needs after your children’s, but it’s also essential to think about our needs too. I have really missed the one day off I have, as it totally disappeared whilst my children were at home. I forgot how much I needed that one day to myself. Although I often caught up on the housework, it also gave me much needed time to think and reflect.

Learning online with Red Letter Days

A few weeks ago Red Letter Days got in touch with me and asked if I would be interested in taking an online course at home as this month they are celebrating a Festival of Learning. I actually tried to do at least one online course a week over the last 5 months – just to keep my brain ticking – so I jumped at the chance to try something new. I chose an online Level 3 Admin, PA and Secretarial Diploma Course as I wanted to brush up my admin skills.

Admin, PA and Secretarial Diploma Course

Gain the necessary skills to perform effectively in the workplace with a level three admin, PA and secretarial diploma course. Discover the importance of time management, customer care, organisational skills and more. Students can make their way through 21 individual modules whilst learning about effective work planning, how to handle travel arrangements and compose business letters and how to approach an extensive range of daily tasks with confidence and precision. From typing skills to becoming familiar with computer software, this informative 15-hour course covers all bases.

Once all 21 modules are completed, take a multiple-choice test that can be taken at a time and location of choice. The examination pass mark is 70%. After completing the online test, simply log into the account and download/print the certificate any time.

I enjoyed the course. It was a bit of a refresher as I used to work in an office but wanted to update my skills and hopefully go for a new job this year. I like the fact there was a certificate to download at the end of the course, and I’ve added it to my CV too.

Don’t forget to check out all the other courses available from Red Letter Days and perhaps learn something new too.

That’s great that you decided to do something for yourself! The course sounds like a really good way to gain new skills.

This is such a great idea and amazing what you now do online and not have to venture into a classroom!
