    Five Happy Things {Week 521}

    Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family. Five Happy Things {Week 521} Last week I had the cold that has been going round. I needed something easy to binge watch and came across Mormon Wives on Disney+. It was very watchable and just what I needed. Now I am feeling better I have discovered Ludwig which is equally…

    What I made in August 2024

    August felt like such a busy month with the kids on their school summer holidays. We were away a lot but I packed my Liberty Tumbling Blocks which was the perfect size for whipping out when I had five minutes. I made up a lot of blocks and have stitched them into strips to add to the bottom. I love watching it come together. During our family trip to Normandy we were able to go and view the Bayeux Tapestry which had been on my bucket list for ages. Although it was busy we were able to get close to…

    What I made in June 2024

    The weather has been all over the place this month. It’s either been too cold or too hot and I haven’t been able to concentrate on one sewing project for more than an evening. I have a stack of projects next to me, all unfinished, but have been enjoying The Great British Sewing Bee and day dreaming about making some clothes. I love the tamarack jacket from Grainline Studio and would love to find a class in London to help me make it. What I made in June 2024 I spent some time updating my Liberty fabric book. This is…

    Five Happy Things {Week 469}

    Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. Five Happy Things {Week 469} Yesterday I visited the Knitting and Stitching Show at Ally Pally. This takes place every year but I haven’t been for the last few years. It was fun to go back and although I didn’t work any workshops I enjoyed looking round all…

    Monday Happy List {Week 261}

    I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing. Monday Happy List {Week 261} I packed a lot into last week. I started with a trip into London for the Cricut Meet and Greet. I spent a fun few hours learning more about Infusible Ink, the EasyPress Mini and how you can now use Design Space offline. It was…

    Seasonal adventures in needle felting

    I’ve been on a bit of a roll the last few days. Not only did I finish a 3D Spooky House papercut but I also made a kit I treated myself to at the Knitting and Stitching Show earlier this month. I’ve always wanted to try needle felting and I’ve bought a few kits over the years. I have to admit to not really getting much further than opening them and putting them away again! I’m always so scared to try new things, I’m not really sure why. However, this year I’m challenging myself to try new things so I…

    My 2018 Craft Goals {6 month update}

    At the start of this year I had huge plans to tidy up my craft stash. My 2018 Craft Goals included sorting out my craft books, fabric stash and pile of WIP’s which were out of control and needed reining in. We’re almost half way through the year so it seems like a good time to write a little update here on my blog. My 2018 Craft Goals {6 month update} I have stitched a few of my WIPs, not as many as I wanted to, but still. At least I have been sewing more. I finished the sashiko stitching…

    Monday mindfulness – 5 Happy Things

    Happy Monday everyone! I’m looking forward to the end of January and a new month. January has flown by but I admit to being excited by warmer weather, longer days and February. We’re decorating my daughter’s bedroom this week which I’m quite excited about. I had a major clear out today and although I’m sad to get rid of the toys she no longer plays with, I’m excited to give her a lovely bedroom. Monday mindfulness – 5 Happy Things We were lucky to go and see two great films this weekend. The first was Darkest Hour which my husband…

    Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things

    Morning and happy Monday peeps. The cold weather made for a loooong weekend, I’m just a little bit grateful that it’s Monday and my children are back at school! Time for my weekly Monday mindfulness post – about the 5 things which made me happy over the last 7 days. Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things Last week was busy for me as I was back in school doing some exam invigilating. I was grateful for the work but it meant I was less present on my blog and social channels. Which was a shame, as I had so much…
