Paws For Thought – Romsey’s {kid friendly} Cat Cafe

Paws For Thought - Romsey's {kid friendly} Cat Cafe

My son has been asking to get a cat for a few months now. We used to have two cats, who sadly died, and have been thinking of getting another pet. I thought it would be an adventure to visit a Cat Cafe over the holidays. I love the idea of a cafe where you could enjoy tea and cake whilst enjoying the company of a cat. I had previously visited Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium in London (nearly 2 years ago) but unfortunately they didn’t allow children.

It took me a while to find somewhere that did allow children and finally I came across Paws For Thought, a cat cafe in the pretty town of Romsey. Fortunately we were able to squeeze in a trip to Romsey over the Christmas holidays so I booked us a slot over lunch time. We kept this little treat a surprise from the children and they were absolutely delighted when we turned up outside Paws For Thought.

The cafe was lovely, bright and clean. There were four different areas to sit in as well as a small outside space. We were shown to our table in the middle of the cafe which was the perfect place for trying to spot all the feline residents. There were only a few rules, such as not feeding the cats or picking them up. We ordered drinks and sandwiches then looked for the cats.

Paws For Thought currently has 7 rescue cats who each had their favourite spot in the cafe. The children loved looking for them, and discovering where they were sleeping. One of the cats loved sitting in a sail suspended from the ceiling and my son found the cats favourite toy and enjoyed playing with him.

All the cats were in beautiful condition and well-looked after. It was such a fun experience to have lunch surrounded by cats! The whole experience just made my son want to get a cat so we’ll see what happens.

It’s advisable to book online before you visit Paws For Thought. Find out more about them and how to book on their website.
