Paper plate rainbow craft for kids

Do you ever wonder how you’ve ended up with so many craft supplies? The house is full so we have been trying hard to use some up lately, especially as the snowy weather has kept us inside. Everything has been very pretty but WHITE. To bring some colour into our life we had fun with a large box of ready made pom poms. The children have been using them for all sorts of things – mainly covering their Sylvanian Families play scenes in snow! I thought I could keep them busy by getting them to sort the colours and making rainbows.

My 6 year old picked out a rainbow of colours whilst I cut a paper plate into two equal pieces.

They both took a paper plate and covered it in glue.

Then they arranged their pom poms around the paper plate, creating the arcs of the rainbow.

They got a bit messy but had fun. The pom poms were all different sizes so they enjoyed finding ones which would fit. The finished result looks really pretty – perfect for celebrating the great British weather or even St Patricks Day.

I honestly wish I had seen this a couple of days ago, this would have been perfect to do with the kids over the weekend while they were feeling a bit under the weather. Hopefully we can do something similar one of the coming weekends x

Oh my goodness I love this idea! I’m going through a pompom phase at the moment and actually I wouldn’t mind making these myself, ha!
