Good news

Posted on April 24, 2010 by jenny

Yay, my husband was finally discharged from hospital this afternoon. After 31 trips to visit him (often with poor little Edward in tow) I think we are all relieved he has been allowed to recuperate at home.

Catching up

Posted on April 23, 2010 by jenny

I meant to photograph Edward every day but funnily enough sleep deprivation, dirty nappies and lack of time have prevented me. I’ve brought together some of my favourite photographs into mosaics which I will aim to continue uploading every week/month for as long as possible: Week 1 Week 2Week 3 Week 4 Week 5

Taggies

Posted on April 22, 2010September 30, 2018 by jenny

Taggies are cute comforters for babies, often made from two different fabrics and edged with ribbons. Edward received a lovely taggie from Claire and at 5 weeks he is very into holding, grabbing and pulling, so this was a perfect gift. (This isn’t a great photo of him in action – but doesn’t he look…

Pincushion swap

Posted on April 20, 2010May 2, 2012 by jenny

Today I received an exciting parcel from Megan at Maximum Rabbit Designs who was my partner in Claire’s Pincushion Swap. Megan likes buttons, felt and all things vintage as much as I do 🙂 The parcel was beautifully contained in a round box, decorated with button stamps and plenty of space for a photograph –…

Day 33

Posted on April 19, 2010 by jenny

Edward has been busy learning new tricks. These include spitting gripe water back at mummy, stretching, smiling, grabbing, coughing and scratching (unintentionally I hope!). I’m amazed how quickly he is changing and sad that my husband is missing out on these little things. Our neighbour rang up this morning to say our cat had returned. He…

Day 32

Posted on April 18, 2010April 5, 2019 by jenny

Today we had our first picnic with some friends who had come over to visit daddy in hospital. The weather has been amazing since we’ve been on the Isle of Wight and it has been lovely to get out and about everyday.  This was followed by our first visit to a farm when we stopped…

Day 30

Posted on April 16, 2010 by jenny

Here’s a picture of Edward looking cute in his first bib. I’m not quite sure why it has taken me four weeks to use a bib, I suppose muslins are just too easy to pick up and mop up spills. Yesterday was also the first time we wore socks and the first time we tried…

Day 28

Posted on April 14, 2010 by jenny

Here we are sporting one of our new outfits bought by Grandad yesterday. As we don’t know when we’ll be able to go home we’ve registered with the local health service. Baby is now weighing in at 4940g – an increase of 970g since birth 🙂 I was discharged by the community midwife and will…

Day 27

Posted on April 13, 2010 by jenny

Edward is official today as we managed to fill out a Declaration at the Register Office on the Isle of Wight. This will be forwarded to our local Register Office and we can finally get his birth certificate. We had a little shopping spree in Newport and bought some new clothes as the newborn clothes…
