Quinny Zapp Xtra meets its ultimate challenge!

…the snow finally came. I’d been watching the news about the snow fall and feeling left out until last night. About 10pm the snow started falling and barely stopped all day. Fortunately my husband was discharged from hospital today so we decided to take Edward for a walk so he could see his first snow. This was also our first opportunity to see how the Quinny coped in the snow. So we bundled ourselves up in layers of clothing and off we went. The Quinny handled well in the snow. I had to push it quite hard to get it…

We are a Maclaren Kid Tester Family!

I am very excited to tell you that Edward has been chosen as a Maclaren Kid Tester! He won’t be testing  other kids but as part of Team Maclaren we have the opportunity to test beginning….by Maclaren bath products! A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to win a bottle of their new Balancing Facial Mist for mum’s on their Facebook page so I can’t wait to try more products 🙂   We’ll be reviewing the products throughout December so check back to read our thoughts. You can also join Maclaren on Facebook and also follow them on Twitter.…

    Fabric advent calendar

Hooray, finally we can open our Advent Calendars and light our Advent candle. As we’re spending Christmas with my mum she mentioned we should sit down and start planning meals over Christmas! I don’t think we need to do this just yet but my mum is so organised she has already ordered the turkey and beef from the butcher. Fortunately she has gone away for a few days to celebrate her birthday which has left me with some time to finish off Edward’s advent calendar. It’s a pre-printed fabric panel with pockets for each day of December. Sadly he’s too…

    Cyber Monday

I hate to admit it but being married to a true IT geek means I am currently sitting in the hospital with my MacBook Air and MiFi card. My husband is asleep (and still no news when he will be discharged) so I am taking the opportunity to do a little online shopping. Apparently yesterday was Cyber Monday which sees a big boom in internet shopping and lasts for eight days. I’m still searching for a birthday present for my mum who is 70 on Thursday and I really like the look of some of the casual boots from Next.…

    Oh Christmas tree…

My 6 year old niece has banned us from talking about the C word until the 1st of December (apparently her teacher has enforced this in the classroom). However we can’t help it and we certainly can’t escape it in the shops, on the radio, in the papers. Even the local Council have already put up trees and switched on the twinkly lights in every town!

    Orla Kiely reuseable bag

Orla Kiely, has created an exclusive range of reusable shopping bags to raise funds for charity.  The limited edition, collectable bags will launch exclusively through Tesco this December. CLIC Sargent is Tesco Charity of the Year 2010 and the aim of the partnership is to raise ÂŁ5 million to help fund specialist children’s nurses across the UK, so children with cancer can spend more time at home. The Orla Kiely bags will retail at only ÂŁ4, with fifty pence from each sale divided equally between CLIC Sargent and Orla’s personal charity. I can’t wait to get my hands on a special…

Snowflake: Beautiful Christmas songs for you and your family

This year we’re very excited, ok, I’m very excited, as it’s bubba’s first Christmas. This means I get to go completely over the top with buying Christmas presents, putting the decorations up and generally getting into the Christmas spirit earlier than ever. So I was very happy to review Snowflake, the new CD from The Rainbow Collections.   Following the success of Lullaby, a children’s bedtime CD, and Toybox, a collection of nursery rhymes for playtime, the Rainbow Collections has released the final album in its trilogy – Snowflake. Snowflake brings to life traditional Christmas songs. The album includes 16…

Day Zero – Month Two (November)

Another month has gone by so time to look at my progress with Day Zero. I’ve lost my mojo a bit recently but I’m pleased to say I’ve had time to undertake some new projects. Sewing/craft projects I’ve learned how to make cushions with a bit of help from my mum so I’ve made cushions for my sister and my youngest niece for Christmas. I made Edward his first Advent calendar and a badge blanket, and made our Christmas cards. I’ve joined two Christmassy swaps too!   Cooking/baking Hmmmm, I made the sticky ginger cake again because it’s DELICIOUS – does…

    QuinnyCasters News #8

I failed miserably at the first QuinnyCasters assignment. My reporting of the opening and assembly of the Quinny Zapp Xtra failed to impress the judges and I didn’t win a prize. So I bought the Quinny footmuff from ebay which I love! It can be used on the Quinny and the Maxi-Cosi car seat so we’re able to use it all the time which is handy in this cold weather.  Brrrr. Anyway, the second assignment was to capture your child feeling happy in their Quinny. Hmmm. Edward only smiles and giggles when I’m blowing raspberries on his tummy or pulling…
