    Gingerbread truffles

I can’t help but pop into a Hotel Chocolat whenever I walk past one. On my last visit I snapped up some of their gingerbread truffles, all in the name of research for this blog you understand. The pack contained six truffles, a super soft milk chocolate truffle with yummy gingerbread flavours of cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. To be honest I’m not a huge fan of truffles so these haven’t been my favourite seasonal gingerbread product this year. The gingerbread flavour is lovely though and my husband was happy to polish off the remaining truffles! £3.50 for 6 truffles

I can tell this month is going to go quickly as it’s already time for Day 2 of my 12 days of Christmas gift guide! On the second day of Christmas my mummy bought for me – fun festive crafts (and a hamster dressed like royalty!). Being a crafty mummy I just love this Mould & Paint Christmas set by Great Gizmos. It’s suitable for ages 5+ but Edward and I have had lots of fun with it. The set aims to let the little ones create their very own Christmas ornaments and magnets in this crafty fun-packed kit. Including…

    Discharged too early?

My community midwife had mentioned that North Middlesex University Hospital were keen to discharge patients the day after the section if they and their baby were fine. She warned me that this could cause problems and not to leave if I wasn’t ready so I went into hospital with an open mind. I was surprised when my midwife suggested it to me but I felt fine, was on top of the pain and really wanted to be at home with Edward. We were back at home 32 hours after we walked into the Labour ward. Our first night at home…

    A positive csection story

So on Monday the day finally came when we would get to meet our new baby. We dropped Edward off with a friend and drove to the hospital. On arrival we found out that we were the third section booked that morning and there was the possibility of a couple of emergency sections too. We were taken to a large double room with en-suite bathroom and settled down for a long wait. The Anaesthetist came for a chat about pain relief and when she had gone we took some photographs of ourselves and the lovely babygro we had made the…

    Hearty Gingerbread Porridge

I’m a big fan of Dorset Cereals products and was really excited when I heard they were launching a seasonal porridge. It’s only available in Waitrose (or online) so it took a while to get my hands on some but it was worth the wait! Made with barley flakes as well as the usual jumbo oats, it also contains crumbled pieces of real gingerbread and tiny pieces of date. Each box contains 10 x 42g sachets which can be cooked on the hob or in the microwave. I love porridge for breakfast and have been enjoying the gingerbread porridge. The…
