Oxo Tot twist top water bottle review and giveaway

We’ve recently been sent a couple of products from Oxo Tot to try. We love their products as they tick all our boxes: easy to use, simple to keep clean, fun colours and BPA free. The latest product we’ve been trying is the Oxo Tot twist top water bottle. Both my children were attracted to this bottle and it’s easy to see why. It has a clever non-slip lid which when twisted reveals a soft straw that is comfortable to drink from. The non-slip carrying loop is comfortable and easy to hold too. The lid twists closed which helps keep…

    Sweet dreams

Both my children have had eczema. Fortunately they’ve grown out of as they’ve got older, except for poor Little Sis who has small patches of it behind her knees. I was recommended Soothing Baby Balm by Green People which really helped the itching and dry skin. So when they got in touch about reviewing their certified organic toiletries range for children I was very happy to try other products. Green People review We were sent Baby Wash & Shampoo as well as a new Shampoo, both were tried out by the children at bath time. The toddler chose the Berry…

Hungry to happy in a couple of easy steps

I love trying to make meal times exciting for my children. Too often the toddler shouts “I’m hungry” at me, giving me a very small time frame to whip up something tasty for him. I’ve just been introduced to the new Richmond Mini Meatballs and they are perfect for quick and easy meals. There are lots of ways you can use them, such as traditional meatballs and spaghetti, but we like them as kebabs! Last night, after a long day shopping, it was very hot and sticky so the children had a bath before dinner. As usual I needed to…

    Afternoon tea at The Athenaeum

Last year I reviewed a lovely book by Sarahjane Funnell. We were invited to afternoon tea at the pet friendly hotel, The Athenaeum, for the launch of her second book – Phillipa Fairy Cake and the Secret Pets’ Tea Party. Afternoon tea at The Athenaeum First of all we enjoyed a really delicious afternoon tea with delicate finger sandwiches, fairy cakes and macaroons. The kids loved trying the sandwiches and pretty fairy cakes. We were all given lovely rosettes with our names on which I thought was a lovely personal touch. Phillipa loves fairy cakes. She loves them almost as…

I Spy with my little eye

I Spy with my little eye, something beginning with Q. I have completed a project! I’ve been working on a doll quilt for Little Sis for quite a while. She has a growing collection which I am very happy to add to. The pattern is from pretty in patchwork doll quilts which is easily my favourite craft book at the moment. Fortunately for me the quilt came together in several distinct steps so I was able to work on it over a couple of weeks. First of all I chose and made the 24 hexagons, then arranged them again and…

My Day Zero challenge is over

I’m actually quite pleased to say that the Day Zero challenge I started on the 19 September 2010 has finished. It seems a long time ago but my 1001 days are over. I haven’t quite completed my list but it’s 87% finished, which is good enough. Time to start something new for me. This year has been busy with the house move and adjusting to our new life in suburbia. At the beginning of the year I said I wanted to slow down on the blogging front. It’s taken over my life and not in a good way. I appreciate…

What I’m reading: Vintage Revised Jewelry

Moving house has helped me re-discover all of my lovely crafty items which have been packed away during the whole house moving shenanigans. Everything is slowly coming together and I have a long list of things I want to make. A couple of weeks ago I was sent a copy of Vintage Revised Jewelry by Co-Co Nichole Bush to review. I’ve been reading through the 35 projects and already want to try so many of them. They combine my love of recycled treasures and handmade which is a brilliant match for me. Divided into four sections the projects cover Vintage…
