The other day Little Sis was watching me sew something and she said she would like to try. I would be so happy if my children wanted to learn to sew. It’s a useful skill but also a great hobby. Luckily for Little Sis I had a sweet little kit all ready for her, the daisy headband kit from Hobbycraft. The kit contained everything needed to make a daisy headband – pre-cut felt shapes, plastic needle, thread and a white headband. I’ve never made anything like this before but my daughter has an obsession with headbands, which she’s always worn…

I’m a little late with my list of Monday happy things but, given the gorgeous British Summer weather we’re experiencing today, I’m sure you can forgive me. After an exciting weekend I had a hard job deciding the 5 things which made me happiest over the last week. Top of my list must be my new Orla Kiely shopper from Tesco. The pattern is called Sunset Flower and reminded me of patchwork flowers. I can’t get enough of these tote bags as they’re perfect for shopping and really strong too so last ages. I found this gorgeous 1960s Waddington puzzle…

I have a sweet kids craft to share today. Both my children love Shopkins, the cute little characters from the supermarket. They are so excited about the launch of Season 3 Shopkins next month, I am too since I found there was a gingerbread house character. Inevitably my children have ended up with a few duplicates which they’ve let me craft with. So far we’ve made a Shopkins necklace, key ring and brooch. Since my daughter was toilet trained a few weeks ago I have been trying to come up with ways to encourage her to wash her hands. I…

My 3 year is becoming a fussy little eater which is a shame as the rest of us really enjoy our food. Sometimes a fun little bento lunch helps, but not always. She loves to help me prepare lunch so I’m hopeful that this is just another stage that she will eventually grow out of. I’m always on the look out for a theme she will like. Now she loves minions and the Despicable Me films. She even has her own unicorn, just like Agnes. She enjoyed the minions themed bento I made recently so I thought I would try…

June was a great month for me and it feels like I’ve barely put my sewing needles down. My daughter gained a Cath Kidston-inspired ric rac skirt which looks great with the iron on Cath Kidston letter I added to her tshirt. A brand new updated outfit for pennies! I tried something new with an EPP feather, a bang on trend craft kit which came with the latest issue of love patchwork and quilting. The issue also has a pattern for an adorable liquorice allsort quilt which I have put aside for a rainy day. I completed the patchwork part…

A couple of week ago we were invited to look around the new Nickelodeon flagship store in London before it opened to the public. It’s well worth a visit for Nick fans big and small, packed with all your favourite characters and lots of fun interactive elements. It’s easy to forget you are in the Nickelodeon Store as you discover your favourite characters from SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Dora the Explorer. We loved the London themed toys and think SpongeBob would make a great Beefeater. To celebrate the opening of the new Nickelodeon Store I have a…

Is it too early to be thinking about Back to School? Although we haven’t planned our end of term teachers’ gift we’ve already had a sneak preview of what the cool kids will be taking to school with them in September. As a bit of a stationery addict I was excited to spend Thursday morning at Paperchase’s flagship store on Tottenham Court Road. They were previewing their new Autumn/Winter 2015 collection in a vintage school arrangement with wooden desks and a roller design chalk board that took me right back to my own school days. I love some of the…

Today I’m going back to my blog roots and I’m going to share the latest Mollie Makes craft kit with you. I’ve subscribed to Mollie Makes from the first issue but pretty embarrassed to say I only ever made a few of the free gifts, I think my favourite was a cute little leather Valentine brooch. In a bid to kick start my creativity I’ve decided to make the cover gift each month and blog about it (you can see a previous attempt here). Jenny Makes Mollie Makes dreamcatcher kit Now I can’t knit or crochet so some months I…
