HOME activities and a film review

Posted on July 19, 2015 by jenny

The other evening we celebrated the end of the School week by watching HOME as the Digital HD Version is now available to download. We watched it in the cinema earlier this year and quickly fell in love with Oh, a lovable misfit from another planet who meets a girl named Tip. The two unlikely friends embark on the greatest journey of all time…the journey HOME.  It’s a lovely film celebrating family, friendship and fun, from the creators of How To Train Your Dragon and Shrek!

We received a copy of the film to watch as well as three fun activity sheets: Tip, Oh & Pig colouring sheet,‘Groove like a Boov’ Dot to Dot and a Captain Smek Dot to Dot. Little Sis got hold of them and enjoyed painting Tip, Oh and Pig and the others.

HOME activities

You can find the blank activity sheets over at In The Playroom, I’m not sure you would want ours after Little Sis got creative with the paint!

Tip, Oh and Pig activity sheet

When the film first came out we collected a few of the Oh characters from Happy Meals which we still have. We also made our own from some spare Kinder Egg shells. I will try and write about them soon.

Oh is an adorable character and I think the film appeals really well to adults and children. We’d love a little Oh to come and live with us. Would you?

HOME features the voice talents of Golden Globe and Emmy winner Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory, The Muppets), Grammy winner Rihanna (Battleship), Golden Globe nominee Jennifer Lopez (American Idol, Maid In Manhattan) and Oscar and Emmy winner Steve Martin (The Pink Panther, Father of the Bride). Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment released DreamWorks Animation’s HOME PARTY EDITION on Digital HD on July 13th.

This sounds like a perfect film to keep the kids occupied over the hols – my little one breaks up this Fri. From the makers of Shrek and How to Train Your Dragon Too – that’s a good pedigree! Tx

It’s very funny, I think I enjoyed it as much as the kids!
