I’m sharing a tutorial over on the Sizzix blog today for a hand painted feather t-shirt. I love a simple DIY and this couldn’t be easier! I used the leftover card from last weeks project (dipped paper feathers) as a template to paint directly on to a t-shirt with DYLON fabric paints. I love using DYLON paint (although need to invest in some more colours!) as it is such a quick way to update clothes. I only gave it one coat as the colours were quite strong on a plain white t-shirt, then ironed the paint when it was dry…

My bedside table is piled high with books at the moment. I seem to behind sharing them here but today I wanted to tell you about London Stitch & Knit: a craft lover’s guide to London’s Fabric, Knitting and Haberdashery Shops by Leigh Metcalf. The author blogs at Found, now home which I’ve enjoyed for a while so I was excited when she mentioned she was working on her first book about haberdashery shops in London. As a Londoner who loved to stitch I knew I was going to want a copy of London Stitch & Knit on my shelves.…

I’m a huge fan of crafting with Duck Tape. It’s strong, colourful and good value. My local Hobbycraft always has an eye catching display and a few weeks ago we spotted they had Star Wars Duck Tape! My 5 year old is obsessed with Star Wars so we bought some to craft with. He made me a picture frame with it so I thought it was about time I made him a little gift. Whilst he was at school I made him a Star Wars Duck Tape wallet to keep all his Star Wars cards safe. This took 10 minutes…

I had never made Rocky Road until recently. My obsession with Tunnock’s products is continuing and, after the success of my last few baking experiments, I decided to add a couple of Tunnocks Caramel Wafer bars to Rocky Road and see what happened. I found a Nigella Lawson recipe for Rocky Road and followed that, you can find it here. I already had all the ingredients I needed so it was simple to make, I just substituted 2 Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer bars for the biscuits. As you can see, they were quite crumbly but that didn’t seem to matter. This…

Unless you’re the savviest shopper out there, you might be spending more money than you have to on your weekly food bill. Personally, when it comes to feeding our family, we shop in a way that helps give us the tastiest, most varied and most nutritional diet without breaking the bank. But like anyone else, we’re susceptible to the offers designed to fill up our basket with stuff we don’t need! For that reason, it’s been really interesting to learn about the results of a survey conducted Money Advice Service. Did you know, for example, that 59% of people say…

Happy Monday everyone, hope you had a great weekend. So many good things are happening at the moment. I received an early birthday present from my sister in the shape of the new Orla Kiely colouring book. I love this book a lot! The name Orla Kiely goes hand in hand with print and this book features many of her well-loved patterns. There ‘s a handy colour palette so you can follow her colour style or make up your own and see how some of your favourite prints could look like in your style. I was happy to have some…

I spent an enjoyable weekend planning some home improvement. We were in the West End on Saturday and popped into my favourite shop, the Orla Kiely shop in Seven Dials. Have you seen her new range of homewares? There are lovely things but what I really love are the room displays which give you an idea of what her furniture, or a rug, cushion or wallpaper might look like in situ. I took some cheeky photos as we’re planning our lounge makeover this year. We have a long lounge and dining room where the wall has been knocked down by…

Every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new with each of the cover gifts. Jenny Makes Mollie Makes Mr Fox & pals decorations I love getting mail and was pretty excited to see the pretty cover of the latest issue of Mollie Makes (issue 64). With the yellow and decorated eggs I immediately felt happy and couldn’t…

I don’t think I’ve ever blogged about my obsession with little houses. But for once I’m going to contradict myself and say that just because I haven’t blogged about it, doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened! I’m not quite sure when this obsession started but over the last few months it has really grown. Luckily we are short of space so my little house collection is small. First it was a little house ornament, then a framed picture of a house ‘drawn’ with a sewing machine. A couple of Christmases ago I started buying house-shaped tea light holders and now I’ve…
