We are so excited to go and see the new stellar-studded animation film Trolls from DreamWorks. The trailers look fun, my daughter insisted I buy her the Trolls sticker album so she is familiar with the characters, and we’re hoping to go tomorrow as a half term treat. A few weeks ago we had fun reviewing the Poppy Style Station and were delighted to be offered the new Trolls Hug Time Bracelet and Poppy Wig to review. These are part of a range of hair play and dress up toys based on the hairy characters, from Just Play. How To Be…

With both my children at school our crafts now take place after school and at the weekends. I have perfected the art of setting up an invitation to play which helps them both unwind from school and bring out their creativity. This week we had fun with our Easy Gingerbread Halloween mummies and I’m going to let you into a little secret – I didn’t bake my own gingerbread! Easy Gingerbread Halloween mummies This is a super quick and fun craft activity because it uses shop bought gingerbread men! I love making my own but sometimes you just need to…

It feels as if I’ve lost my crafting mojo lately. You think there will be more time for crafting in the colder months but I seem to be busier than ever. The only thing I have been making time for is the latest Wild Olive Stitching Club. This week I finally put the last stitch in place to finish off a new mini quilt for our home. I’ve taken part in a few Wild Olive Stitching Clubs. You get sent a pattern to stitch every week via email and they build up to make a quilt. The latest Stitching Club…

A few days ago I published a piece about the new Miffy X H&M Collection. My daughter is a little fashionista in the making and loves to go shopping with me. She takes a real interest in her clothes and how she looks so was delighted when Penguin Random House sent us a copy of their new title to review. Fashion Mash Up is a beautiful, collaborative craft book of fashion through the ages, which has been designed and curated alongside the Victoria & Albert Museum. Packed with over 75 pieces of clothing, 250 stickers with fabulous glitter and foil…

I’ve mentioned a few times about our lovely new kitchen. It’s dragged on a little but we’ve had a final push this weekend, painted the ceiling and walls and tiled the floor. We’ve managed to squeeze in about 90% of everything and it’s lovely. It’s easy to get used to loose cupboard doors and cluttered surfaces but I’m really enjoying my new kitchen. The only thing I had to compromise on was the kitchen sink. I really wanted a Belfast sink but my husband wanted a wooden worktop and for some reason it couldn’t be cut around the sink. At…

I have a lovely simple Halloween craft to share today. They’ve been a huge hit with my children and you’ll soon see why. Spooky Oreo eye cookies are simple to make but look brilliant as a special Halloween treat. Here’s how we made ours. You will need: 1 pack of Oreos Green gel icing Chocolate buttons Red icing How to make Spooky Oreo eye cookies The first step is to carefully remove the top of your Oreo. Slide a knife underneath the top biscuit and gently pull off. Some of mine broke whilst doing this but this half isn’t needed.…

Happy Monday everyone, hope you had a lovely weekend. We’ve had such a busy week with lots of things to do, especially after school. Both kids got smart new haircuts, we had a good after school karate lesson and were invited to our local Pizza Express to make spooky pizzas for Halloween. It certainly meant the week flew by. Unfortunately I have two poorly children at home with me today. My son has earache and my daughter has flu. She’s slowly getting better. Ironically she’s booked in for the flu nasal spray on Tuesday. If only she’d had it earlier…

Yesterday we went to Westfield London and I couldn’t resist popping into the massive H&M there to check out a new line of clothing featuring our favourite little rabbit, Miffy. Mercis and fashion retailer H&M have joined forces to launch a range of apparel featuring Dutch artist Dick Bruna’s classic character Miffy. The Miffy x H&M collection comprises of clothing for babies (aged 0-24 months) and children (aged 2-14). Did you know that Miffy is now 61 years old? I love the fact she is as appealing today as the day she was created by Dick Bruna. I’ve always liked…
