Every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have had a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for grown up crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new. Mollie Makes Papercut Book Issue 81 came with the Mollie Makes Papercut Book of gifts, cards & wall art to cut & create. I love papercutting so had been looking forward to this issue for a while. The booklet features 27 all new designs by Sarah Dennis and…

Lego bricks are something that get played with a lot in our house. There are always some random creations on shelves that I’m not allowed to touch. I think that every home with children must contain some lego bricks so for this weeks’ A-Z Play at Home post we used our lego duplo to create a game. Lego Ring Toss game Lego Duplo bricks are chunky and colourful and very quick to build with. We based our Lego Ring Toss on quoits, a traditional game of skills and accuracy. I challenged my 7 year old to find a lego base…

Can you smell the Summer holidays? I can! Today I’m taking part in the book tour for The Summer of Serendipity by Ali McNamara. Read on for my review of this great summer time read, and for your chance to win a copy. The Summer of Serendipity One summer, property seeker, Serendipity Parker finds herself on the beautiful west coast of Ireland, hunting for a home for a wealthy Irish client. I’m not normally a huge fan of anything which is produced just for girls or just for boys. However, despite my 5 year old insisting she hates the colour pink, it doesn’t seem to stop her being drawn to the colour, wearing the colour, or loving anything pink! I guess she’s a little contrary but also a typical little 5 year old. We were recently sent the first two issues of a new magazine for girls, called Mixit. This is a brand new and totally unique multi-character magazine for girls aged 4-9 and I couldn’t wait to see what she thought…

My 7 year old loves Minecraft. It was the first computer game he played and he still plays it today. This is usually a reward for doing his homework and helping around the house. He likes nothing better than playing it with his Dad. I have to be honest and admit to not knowing how to play. My 5 year old plays too but my 7 year old has Minecraft books, toys and even clothes. It’s fair to say he is a huge fan. Minecraft Master Builder Toolkit We have received a few Minecraft books so I thought I would…

Our summer countdown has begun. The children have three days left at school and then we have 6 weeks without clubs, organised activities or the school run! No homework! No running the children from one thing to the next. Today I’m sharing my Summer beauty trends for 2017. I’m not kidding myself that 6 weeks will be easy but I can’t wait for a break from the normal routine. As much as we all thrive on routine it’s also nice to have a break. The summer holidays actually give me a much-needed chance to shake up my beauty regime. Being a…

It’s been a while since I shared a recipe on my blog. I started Slimming World a few months ago and haven’t really wanted the temptation that baking brings. However, last week I won a bottle of Gin and Tonic flavouring at the weekly raffle and it inspired some low fat baking. The Gin and Tonic flavouring is from Sainsbury’s and there’s a Prosecco one too (which I also won). They are Syn free and a fun way to add some interest to food and drinks. I made some Gin and Tonic lollies with them as well as these Gin…

The sun is shining. It’s the last week of term and I got paid for the job I did last month – just in time to get the fan belt replaced in my car. I can tell it’s going to be a good week so let’s get straight on to my weekly mindfulness post, about the 5 things which made me happy. Last week saw lots of milestones for both of my children. It’s lovely watching all their hard work be rewarded and they both gained their Yellow belt at karate. They’ve been going to karate for just over a…
