Something a little different from us today. For the past few weeks we’ve been taking part in the weekly A-Z Play at Home blog hop. Each week we are inspired by a different letter of the alphabet – today is the letter N. It took us a while to think of anything starting with this letter but eventually we decided upon Nails! We used nails and potatoes to show the amazing power of potatoes! Read on to find out how we did it. To make a potato clock you will need: 2 large potatoes 2 large galvanised nails 2 lengths…

Last year I joined in with a very colourful Photo Walk as part of the Blogtacular conference around Kensington. Despite being a Londoner it’s not a part of London that I know very well. It was lovely to explore some of the quieter streets, it was all very Instagrammable! On the walk we went past Biscuiteers. Anyone who knows me knows how much I adore Biscuiteers biscuits. They are my favourite iced biscuits for special occassions. Did you know that you can go to icing workshops at their shop? Well yesterday the children got to ice specially made biscuits to…

We’ve been doing plenty of reading and writing practice during the holidays but sometimes it’s nice to work on other skills too. That’s just what we’ve been doing with the Oonies Inflator Starter Pack from Character Option. Ooonies are inflatable mini balloons that join together to create a whole world of miniature characters. As well as being a really fun toy the Ooonies play pattern develops fine motor skills and co-ordination! We’ve been trying it out at home, let’s face it we’ve had plenty of wet days indoors! The Oonies Inflator Starter Pack Ooonies are the easy inflatable mini balloons…

Last month the author Shirley Hughes turned 90 and happily shared her birthday month with one of her most treasured creations – public favourite, and retail bestseller, Dogger which celebrates it’s 40th anniversary. Dogger is a favourite picture book in our house. In case you haven’t read it, it features a boy and his stuffed dog, who is lost. I think this is every parents worse nightmare! Thankfully the boy’s sister has an opportunity to earn Dogger back and the story has a happy ending. Phew! To honour Shirley Hughes’s incredible talent and unwavering success over the past 90 years,…

My 7 year old just loves The Grossery Gang. They can be found in Cheap Town, a once bustling urban metropolis BUT ever since the mega motorway to Sales City was built there hasn’t been a single customer in this now run down town! Don’t feel bad though, SOMETHING has been left behind…take a peek inside the Yucky Mart and you might just catch The Grossery Gang hanging out in the vile aisles! This crusty crew of putrid products have hit their expiration dates and festered to life to create their own brand of filthy fun! My son loves his Grossery Gang,…

I work with some lovely brands and I couldn’t wait to share the news that I’m now a member of the Netflix Stream Team. This is a select group of bloggers who have access to the latest Netflix news and content! I love to share new toys, books and films with you all so I’m really excited that I’ll now be sharing the latest programmes too! We’ve had a Netflix subscription for a long time, so it felt like the perfect collaboration for our family. I love nothing better than discovering a new Netflix series to watch whilst I do my crafting…

If you’re looking for a craft activity to keep the children busy over the summer holidays then look no further than Aquabeads. My children love Aquabeads, and I love Aquabeads because it’s something they can do all on their own. My 7 year old loves the Disney franchise Cars. We went to see the latest film, Cars3 as an end of term treat, and he has a huge collection of die cast and Lego vehicles from the films. He loves to craft so I was really excited to show him the latest Aquabeads set which ties in with Car 3…

The first week of the summer holidays is over and we managed to pack in a pretty full week. My children spent 4 days at SuperCamp and had a brilliant time, making new friends, trying new sports and crafts. They had longer days than the school day but loved it although I didn’t really know what to do with myself. I spent my free time tidying the house as we have lots of visitors over the summer. It was quite a relief to be able to clean and change beds without the children around. I also enjoyed a cheeky lunch…

I’m embarrassed to admit I can’t remember the last time, if there was one, that we made a collage. Although we craft with tissue paper and all sorts of materials, there are still some crafts we need to try. Today we popped our collage cherry, thanks to Paper Monsters by Oscar Sabini! Paper Monsters by Oscar Sabini Paper Monsters enables young children to make seven collage pictures of monsters in cleverly designed paper pockets in the book. Children can complete all the pictures to make a monster procession who appear to be hurrying to the last page. There they will…
