We were walking through central London today and the children were really excited to see all the decorations for St Patrick’s Day. Tomorrow there is a huge parade taking place from Hyde Park Corner to Trafalgar Square, followed by a huge party with live music, food and dancing. We will be celebrating at home but I couldn’t resist sharing one last St Patrick’s Day recipe, to make some fun St Patrick’s Day Oreo Pops. St Patrick’s Day Oreo Pops Ingredients 1 (15.35 ounce) package Double Stuf Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookies 2 (11 ounce) packages green candy melts Gold sugar sprinkles…

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Cricut. The opinions and text are all mine. A few weeks ago I was contacted by Cricut. Have you heard of them? They make the most amazing home die-cutting machines which I have lusted after ever since I saw them at a Hobbycraft press show a few years ago. They offered to send me their new Cricut Maker, EasyPress 2 and a bundle of craft materials and tools so I could try it for myself. I am so excited to work with Cricut but also slightly nervous too! I…

I love a bit of home learning. My 7 year old just loves science, so much so that she was awarded her Science badge at Beavers last night! We had fun trying some experiments at home together. So I knew she would enjoy trying some of the new National Geographic™ Kits which we were gifted. National Geographic Shark Tooth Dig Kit My children have both tried these kinds of kits before. They love the challenge of trying to excavate to find the treasure. So they both knew exactly what to do. The first kit we opened was The Shark Tooth…

My favourite part of the day is rushing home from work to pick my children up. I really miss them during the day, and working in a school has made me realise just how much goes on at school. My 8 year old will tell me exactly what he got up to, who he talked to, the person he sat next to at lunch and what arguments happened in the class room. My 7 year old is the complete opposite. When I ask her what she has got up to she will say she can’t remember! She might eventually remember…

Hope you had a great weekend. I love to start the week by writing Five Happy Things. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing. However, this week I had a hard time finding something to write about. We had the quietest weekend (thanks to a 2 hour dentist appointment on Friday afternoon) which meant we didn’t do much over the weekend. That’s just life though, not every day…

With International Women’s Day celebrated around the world on Friday 8th March, it was also the perfect date for the release of the new Marvel Captain Marvel film. Finally, the first female led film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe! My children fell in love with the Marvel world a few years ago when they met the stars of the Marvel Universe LIVE! Super Heroes Assemble. To celebrate the release of the new film, we were kindly gifted the new Marvel Captain Marvel movie Cosmic Captain Marvel super hero doll from Hasbro. Captain Marvel Captain Marvel (aka Carol Danvers) is an…

Does half term seem a long time ago to you? The week was really relaxing and is a distant memory already. We were sent an amazing box of Ready2Robot goodies to enjoy over half term, enough to enjoy a fun afternoon playing with some of the Ready2Robot Bot Blasters, whilst watching the webisodes and munching on popcorn. Ready2Robot: Build, Swap, Battle We’ve mentioned Ready2Robot before. They combine all the fun elements of an unboxing toy with different layers of robots and slime. Kids can build, swap and battle with Ready2Robot. Build your mechbot, unleash your pilot from his slime pod…

Did you celebrate International Women’s Day yesterday? The school I work in went all out for World Book Day but in comparison there was little mention of International Women’s Day (IWD) which was a shame. International Women’s Day is celebrated in many countries around the world on March 8th and is a day when women are recognised for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. In honour of IWD I have a lovely picture book to giveaway today. The Girls by Lauren Ace When four little girls meet under an apple tree they…

Our latest game from the Blogger Board Game Club was the brilliant Exploding Kittens. Have you heard of it before? It was funded on Kickstarter a few years ago and is hugely popular. My husband had heard of it but I hadn’t so I was really looking forward to trying it. It’s a simple card game – or is it? Blogger Board Game Club Review: Exploding Kittens The premise is simple – you are dealt a number of cards. You take it in turns to place and draw cards until you pick an Exploding Kitten card. Then you explode, and…
