I’ve always been a huge advocate on the benefits of crafting. I love to have a couple of projects on the go and find they are a great way of soothing my mind after a long day. It doesn’t matter if it’s creative colouring, hand sewing, paper cutting or trying something new on my Cricut – I love the act of creating something, especially if I can put the finished piece up on the wall, or gift it to someone. If you want to find out more about the benefits then read 4 reasons craft is good for you on…

I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s usually a post I love to write but obviously life has changed considerably for us and everyone else in the UK over the last few weeks. It’s a bit of a cliche but I do love this quotation by Alice Morse Earle: “Every day may not be good…but there’s something good in every day”. Life is hard…

Disclosure – this is a collaborative post Did you have plans to travel this year? We’re always a bit last minute so hadn’t thought further than February half term. Luckily we had a lovely few days in an Airbnb (which I hope to write more about at some point). With any travel plans on hold for the next few months, now is the time to start making our dream wish list for when life returns to normal. Making plans to travel again For the past two years we’ve visited Duinrell in The Netherlands. The first time we booked with Eurocamp,…

Disclosure – this is a collaborative post with Brabantia. Top of our list when we moved to our current house was a garden. With two active children we knew we wanted plenty of space for them to run around, as well as somewhere for us to sit and relax. The garden we ended up with was a lot smaller than we wanted but we decided to compromise on it as the house was in a great location. Over the years we’ve made a few adjustments so I thought I would share my tips on how to make the most of…

Are you making the most of your daily exercise time? With two young children our daily exercise is absolutely essential to stop us going crazy indoors. Thankfully the weather has been amazing all week and the children have been more than happy to go for a walk around the neighbourhood. Every day we have been on the look out for rainbows in windows, something that local children have been putting up in their windows to spread a little happiness. Free rainbow colouring page for kids My children have always adored a rainbow craft (see below for some of our favourites).…

I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I love to write. Monday Happy List {Week 284} What a week last week was. Life gets stranger every day. Today the school I work in is closed indefinitely, as is my children’s school. My husband’s office has been closed so we’re all self isolating and trying to keep safe. I’ve decided to keep…

Although we’re self isolating at the moment we did go out for a short walk with our puppy. The streets were incredibly quiet but we stayed a respectful distance from anyone we did see. My daughter doesn’t really enjoy walking (she’d much rather ride her bike) but she was kept busy spotting rainbows in windows. Have you noticed there are rainbows in windows? Why there are rainbows in windows So you may be wondering why there are rainbows in windows. I think the movement started in Italy and has quickly spread. The idea is that people display a rainbow in…

I don’t know about you, but my kids love raiding the recycling box for their craft materials. One thing we always seem to have plenty of is toilet paper roll. The cardboard inner makes the perfect craft material and we’ve featured plenty of crafts using them, from toilet roll chicks to toilet roll angels. We’ve also used toilet roll tubes to paint with, and even grow seeds. There are lots of ways to re-use and recycle a toilet paper roll, so I thought it would be fun to bring together 15+ Toilet Paper Roll crafts to keep the kids busy.…
