I love to give jewellery at Christmas, birthday and anniversaries. I always think that jewellery is a very personal item but so versatile too – I change my jewellery every day to suit my mood or outfit!
Ethical jewellery brand Jana Reinhardt
Jana Reinhardt are a husband and wife team: Jana Reinhardt and Ross Cutting – both master-goldsmiths who are as passionate about hand making jewellery, as they are about animal welfare and green living. All their pieces are made from 100% recycled precious metals, all gemstones are ethically sourced or lab-grown, and their packaging is 100% recyclable and plastic free.
In the last year, Jana Reinhardt has created several exclusive pieces intended to raise awareness and funds for charities which help drought affected countries in Africa (International Tree Foundation), The Sloth Conservation Foundation, and orangutans (OVAID), among others. They have also established partnerships with charities including NAWT and PETA. Their aim is to create a piece every month to benefit an environmental or animal welfare charity.
Jana Reinhardt kindly offered me one of their adorable animal necklaces but unfortunately I have only produced one gift guide this year, for all things gingerbread. However, they kindly agreed to send me an otter necklace from their Spirit Animals Collection. My daughters’s spirit animal is an otter so I knew this would make the most special heirloom gift for her.
Spirit Animals Collection
The otter necklace arrived and I couldn’t wait to see it. When you order you have the option of two different chain lengths, as well as the chance to personalise your necklace. I love that you can also opt for gift wrapping and whether you would like to receive a pamphlet about Jana Reinhardt.
Part of the spirit animal collection, this friendly little fellow is a totem for keeping your inner child happy and having fun where you can. The otter necklace is a symbol of family, healing, playfulness and ingenuity. Because as a spirit guide, the otter encourages nurture, attentiveness and teaching your little one to go with the flow.
The otter is made from 100% recycled silver which makes this a wonderful sustainable gift. I can’t wait to see my daughter’s face when she opens the otter necklace from Jana Reinhardt, I know she will want to see some of the other beautiful animal necklaces too!

December 14, 2021 at 9:33 pmWhat a cure little otter, it is adorable. I must admit I’ve never heard of Jana Reinhardt before but love the work, think I might have to ‘accidentally’ leave this on view for my other half to see and I am very impressed with their eco-friendly practises.
