Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed the lovely weather we’ve been experiencing. Did you make it out to a Firework display? Unfortunately we didn’t this year but we have enjoyed hearing all the fireworks going off around us 🙂
Each week I start off by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.
Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things
It was a little tough going back to work and school after such a lovely half term. I think we were too relaxed as I found it a bit of a struggle at work. I tried not to go too crazy over Halloween this year and didn’t put many decorations up. We had lots of pumpkins and decorated them every way we could think. My 6 year old decorated hers with stickers whilst I opted for an Orla Kiely inspired pumpkin. We were super busy with Halloween parties and Trick or Treating after school too. Although we only visited our neighbours the children came away with a bucket of sweets and were very happy.
I bought myself a lovely wooden gingerbread house necklace from Kate Rowland and it arrived last week. I have been lusting after it all year after I saw it on her Instagram last year. It sold out super quickly so as soon as I saw she had released more I bought one.
We spent the weekend decorating our home office as it was the last room in the house to be decorated. We painted the room and laid down a new floor. It means we had a pretty quiet weekend but it was lovely to spend some time on the house for once. We have plans to work on more things over the winter to keep it in shape.
We were really lucky that Hasbro sent us the new Star Wars Ultimate Co-Pilot Chewie to review. It’s a lovely interactive plush FurReal toy and we’ve been having lots of fun with it. Over the weekend we did a little vlog which you can see over on our YouTube channel. Hopefully I’ll have time to review it this week.
My 6 year old has gone completely crazy over slime over the last few months. She just wants to make it constantly so I was pretty pleased to find her a Slime magazine over the weekend. One of the free gifts was slime powder so we mixed it up to keep her busy. Slime is such a simple thing to make but she just has to have loads of pots near her to play with!
Hope you have a great week.

November 12, 2018 at 1:14 pmI think even I could do with playing with some slime right now, especially one with sparkles in it, might de-stress me from Excel sheets!
