Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. The weather has been lovely all week (again!) and we loved getting out for some family time this weekend. Each week I start off by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.
Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things
My son has been sick this week which has meant I haven’t done as much as I wanted too. I missed a Christmas in July event I wanted to go to, swapping it for Doctor’s appointments and trips to the Chemist. Unfortunately my son missed his Class Swap day and Sports Day but thankfully he is back to his normal cheeky self now.
I did manage to make it out to Beavers where we took them all tunnelling! It was another hot evening but they had so much fun, putting on their hard hats and venturing into the tunnels. There was an adventure playground too which kept them all busy. I love that my daughter has so much fun at Beavers, and the Summer activities are really fun for them all.
Have you seen the new Harry Potter Brickheadz? We love Brickheadz so couldn’t resist adding the Harry Potter and Hedwig ones to our collection. We are toooooo excited about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Lego minifigure series which is coming later this year!
Yesterday I felt like pretty much the only person not watching England play Sweden in the World Cup. I sing in a choir and we had our final rehearsal before our concert last night. We sang a selection from musicals including Carousel, Sweet Charity, Oliver! and 42nd Street and we had so much fun, despite the very hot weather.
We have been crafting as usual. This week I finally finished the String Art I started weeks ago. I also stitched the cute felt toucan keyring from the latest issue of Mollie Makes. After school we’ve been busy with the Mini Bakers Club subscription box and putting together our entries for the BIC KIDS Young Artist Awards. I’ve placed a big Baker Ross order for craft supplies to keep us busy over the next few weeks and into the Summer holidays.
Today I start my new job! I can’t believe after 8 years as a freelancer and being self-employed I am going back to work. I look forward to telling you about it soon.
Have a great week everyone!
Jenny
