Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend and are enjoying the school summer holidays. Each week I start off by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.
Monday mindfulness – Summer holidays edition
Last week I mainly spent washing after our week at Eurocamp at Duinrell, Holland. I did so much washing it was untrue! Thankfully the weather was pretty good and everything dried outside. We were also visited by my sister who came to visit and it was nice to have some adult company.
We stayed pretty local but ventured into London one day to go and see the Orla Kiely exhibition at the Fashion and Textile Museum. I visited with my husband in June and you can read my thoughts on it here. It’s a really fun exhibition but quite small and we spent about 50 minutes there. We actually bumped into Orla Kiely herself as we were leaving but we were too starstruck to ask for a photo with her!
I love charity shopping and found a huge box of Lego in a charity shop I was dropping some donations at. My kids love Lego and it was such great value that I snapped it up. When I got home I found it was the Lego City Harbour set as well as some extra pieces. I haven’t given it to my children yet as we were just about to go camping but I can’t wait to let them have it next week.
On Friday we set off for a weekend of camping in Devon. You may remember I shared our adventures at Phasels Wood at the start of the summer. We thought we should use the tent again so found a great camp site near my Father in Law.
Even though I bought a little sewing project with me I couldn’t resist buying a felt gingerbread men kit the other day. It was designed by Corinne LaPierre and I have made a few of her patterns which are lovely. Although it’s a little early to be thinking about Christmas I couldn’t resist some seasonal stitching with Autumn around the corner.
