Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to sit down and write.
Monday Happy Things {Week 406}
We survived the extreme heat we faced in London last week. It reached 39 degrees on Tuesday afternoon which was just horrible. I spent Monday and Tuesday at the office, which was air conditioned, but it wasn’t fun travelling in the extreme heat. My son was able to wear his PE kit to school and finish at lunch time. We are all so glad the temperatures are back to normal.
Last week my daughter finished Year 5 and my son finished Year 7. They both received amazing school reports and I’m so glad they had a normal school year after the disruption of the previous years. They both took advantage of every opportunity which came their way, which made for a busy school year. I am so looking forward to the school holidays with them.
My son is currently spending the week in Dorset camping with Scouts. They have some fun adventures planned, from coasteering to a 2 day hike, fishing and cycling.
I spent a day out in London with my daughter. We decided to visit Sky Gardens and Superbloom at the Tower of London. The weather was lovely and we stopped for lunch on the Thames foreshore beneath the Tower of London. It was a great spot to watch the boats go by whilst the tide was out.
On Saturday my husband and I went to watch Six The Musical which is my favourite musical. It was really great to watch a live performance. We also treated ourselves to pre-theatre drinks at Gordon’s Wine Bar by Embankment.
I finished a super sweet embroidery hoop featuring pretty daisies. I bought this a few years ago and was determined to stitch it over the summer months. I love the fact it’s stitched on mustard fabric, which makes it a little more unusual than my usual hoops.
Have a great week!

July 28, 2022 at 12:47 pmThe heat was horrible, I can not believe how hot it got here. We do not finish until tomorrow but it is just online so not having to go out which is great. I would love to visit the sky garden just for the views alone

July 28, 2022 at 2:50 pmI love reading the end of year reports, it’s always so lovely to see everything in one spot – mine had great reports too. I LOVE your embroidered daisies! The mustard background really makes them pop.

July 28, 2022 at 4:10 pmI absolutely loved six when I saw it, and I’d love to see it again. I can’t imagine how horrible it must have been commuting during that heat, I feel very lucky that we have AC at home so I literally didn’t leave the house those days haha x
