Monday Happy List

Monday Happy Things {Week 385}

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Monday Happy Things {Week 385}

Last week my husband celebrated his birthday with the most amazing Boba Fett helmet inspired cake. He loves all things Star Wars and this was the perfect cake for him.

Over the weekend I helped my daughter make a Viking warrior outfit for Viking Day this week. It feels like a long time since she’s had a fun day at school but she is looking forward to dressing up and learning all about the Vikings.

I’ve been trying to finish the owl embroidery from the Winter Craftpod box. It’s such a beautiful animal but the calico keeps fraying which annoys me so much when I sew. I used my sewing machine to stitch a few lines around the edges of the fabric but it doesn’t stop it fraying every time I pick it up. I really need to finish it this week so I can make a start on one of my other projects.

I love reading craft books and I’ve been sent some lovely ones to review recently. Over the weekend I reviewed Daydream Journals by Tilly Rose which was packed full of inspiration for creating a fabric journal.  Pen and Sword have sent me a selection to review too which I’m excited to share soon.

My son wanted to make some colourful rainbow fudge and we had fun in the kitchen. He mixed up six layers of fudge, freezing each layer one by one. It turned out wonderfully!

Have a great week!
