Monday Happy List

Monday Happy Things {Week 375}

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List  is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Monday Happy Things {Week 375}

Last week was the last week of term for my two. Sadly a lot of the usual fun end of term activities were cancelled or went online. My son’s first music concert was pre-recorded, and my daughter’s Christmas play was recorded too. They were both happy to finish for the Christmas holidays though, especially as I treated them to a box of festive Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

My daughter and I tried one of the gingerbread house kits I picked up recently. It’s just not Christmas without a gingerbread house or two and we baked and built the Sainsbury’s Make Your Own Gingerbread Kit. We really enjoyed this kit and it tasted delicious.

On Saturday we went out for a lovely walk around Northala Fields. It’s a place we visit quite often and there are lots of different parts to explore including the boating lake and play area. The pup was really happy to have a good sniff around and the kids got to run up and down the artificial hills.

Yesterday we visited the Christmas Duck Pond Market in Ruislip. It was so lovely to wander around the stalls and we stocked up on fresh bread and treats for lunch. It was packed and really lovely to bump into lots of friends there.

This year I set myself the challenge of reading 30 books for the annual Goodreads challenge. I smashed my target and nearly doubled my target, thanks to reading so much with the kids. I’ve read some great books this year and can’t wait to set myself a new challenge soon.

    Do you eat your gingerbread houses after Christmas? I so wanted to do that as a kid but my mother kept using real glue to get the houses to survive. Well, maybe that was good in the end considering for how long it was standing as decoration:)

    Krispy Kreme’s I love these, and saw the Christmas one last week, and was going to buy some but C was feeling ill and said no, which is very unheard of for her. I might have to pop out now to get some

    Ooh – Krispy Kreme donuts – now, there’s a treat! We have a Krispy Kreme coffee shop in Cardiff and I do enjoy treating myself now and then.
