We made it to the Easter holidays! I am so happy to have 2 weeks off school to spend with my children. I have planned lots of activities to keep them busy and we are going into London to watch the London premiere of Where is Peter Rabbit?, a Beatrix Potter musical adventure with puppets!
I love to start the week by writing Five Happy Things. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.
Five Happy Things {Week 235}
Did you do anything for April Fools Day on the 1st April? My daughter was so delighted to come home with a Doughnut Seed from school. She was so proud to tell me how to plant and water it until it grew. I couldn’t quite believe that she had fallen for it, but she planted it when she got home and has been watering it ever since.
The weather has been a real mixed bag this week. We started off with warm weather, warm enough for the kids to play outside with their homemade mud kitchen. That was quickly followed by a freak hailstone storm in London followed by a double rainbow which the kids found hilarious. The next day we had snow! Thankfully the temperature has slowly been creeping up and I really hope we’ll have some warm sunshine this week.
Last week my son took part in his first music recital at school. He’s been learning the flute for the last 2 terms and was excited to perform a solo in front of Year 2 (which my daughter is in) and parents. I couldn’t attend as it was during the day but my husband did and really enjoyed it. I was really proud of my son for standing up and performing in front of everyone.
With Easter approaching we have been having fun with Easter crafts. We’ve made Easter Peep Bunny cupcakes, Bunny ear cupcakes and spent yesterday decorating painted rocks to look like Easter eggs. I am really looking forward to hiding our most recent painted rocks this week.
The weekend was busy as I sang in a choral concert on Saturday night. We sang Rutter’s Requiem which is one of my favourite pieces of music. My daughter took part in the monthly Hillingdon Kids Run Free at Hillingdon Court Park, and today we visited the park and Duck Pond Market at the Barn, Ruislip. We found loads of painted rocks and bought some very tasty food and stocked up on treats for Easter.
Have a great week everyone!
