The first week of the summer holidays is over and we managed to pack in a pretty full week. My children spent 4 days at SuperCamp and had a brilliant time, making new friends, trying new sports and crafts. They had longer days than the school day but loved it although I didn’t really know what to do with myself.
I spent my free time tidying the house as we have lots of visitors over the summer. It was quite a relief to be able to clean and change beds without the children around. I also enjoyed a cheeky lunch date with my husband at our local Italian.
We spent one day at the wonderful Roald Dahl Museum for a special afternoon tea with Mr Kipling. My 7 year old loves Roald Dahl and his stories and we had a great time at the museum. The Director showed us some very special artefacts from the archive, including a sandal worn by Roald Dahl which inspired Quentin Blake in his BFG illustrations! You can read more about our day out and find out how you can win with the special Splendiferous Summer of prizes for you and your family.
On Saturday we took the children to their first Prom at the Royal Albert Hall. I love live music and it was lovely to be able to share the experience with my family. The Relaxed Prom as a great introduction to music in an amazing setting.
Yesterday I enjoyed a day out with my daughter when we went to watch The Emoji Movie. We’d been looking forward to this film for a while and it was very funny. Read our review in this post.
We’ve been totally spoilt with some wonderful collaborations this week. We’ve reviewed Fingerlings Baby Monkey toy (check out this post to win one) and have been busy putting the new Nerf Regulator through it’s paces, as well as building the new Aquabeads 3D Cruz Ramirez Set from Disney Cars3. We can’t wait to tell you more about these soon.
I’m putting together a video of all the best bits of our Summer Holidays. Week 1 will be up shortly and I’d you to check it out on our YouTube Channel.
