Christmas Halloween crafts Handmade gifts vintage

Monday happy things

Do you like Mondays? I’m coming to the conclusion that I love them. There’s something comforting to me about the start of our weekly routine and my favourite weekly post.

I finished my ticker tape doll quilt and it’s now hanging up on our quilt gallery wall. It only took me an hour to finish the binding so I’m mentally kicking myself that I let it sit around unfinished for so long.

Somehow I have over twenty three thousand followers on Pinterest! I’m not sure how that happened but I’m happy as I love Pinterest and Instagram too. I find them easy to dip in out and out of, unlike Twitter or Facebook, which I really don’t enjoy using. I’ve been having fun creating lots of seasonal boards so pop over and follow me if you like my blog.

My children are stupidly excited about Halloween, we have a pumpkin and the children are itching to decorate the house. I’m hoping that this will take their minds off Christmas as they’ve been obsessing over their Christmas lists for a while.

I picked up a pack of vintage letter cards for pennies at a charity shop last week. It’s Waddington’s Lexicon Card Game and the cards are in great condition. These cards are great for crafting with. A few years ago I used them to make a fun festiveĀ letter card banner and someĀ handmade gifts of framed family names. I’m going to see what else I can make or add them to my shop.

Although I’m trying to restrain my children from getting too excited about Christmas I’m not holding myself back. I had a huge splurge on Christmas magazine and books over the weekend, I actually like seeing them fill the shelves in the book shop. I devoured Mollie Makes Christmas but now have prima Christmas makes, Homemaker and Craft your own Christmas too. So much lovely inspiration. I bought some lots of Christmas decorations at John Lewis yesterday too. I’m mixing up vintage baubles with some fun London-themed decorations and I can’t wait to put them up. I love this time of year!
