Another busy week for us and now we really are counting down until the school holidays.
This week both children had their Sports Days and Class Swap Days. They are really tired and in need of the holiday. I am so proud of them for getting good reports but this term has felt long so the holidays can’t come quickly enough now.
This weekend was pretty special as we enjoyed a family trip to the theatre to see the Gruffalo Live. My children can pretty much recite any Julia Donaldson story word for word so we were excited to see how it came across on stage. It was a beautiful performance, very interactive, which meant they practically sat on the edge of their seats throughout. It is well worth a visit over the school holidays.
We all love a day in the West End and were happy exploring, especially when we came across The Nordic Bakery. Our honeymoon was 2 weeks in Scandinavia so I was delighted to see the tasty treats on offer. We all sat down and enjoyed fresh cinnamon buns.
Whilst in the West End we also found our first glass jar from the new BFG Glass Jar Trail in London. I am so excited for the film and trail. More glass jars are being added at the end of this month so I’m looking forward to at least one day exploring them all during the holidays.
Yesterday I made the Stilton cheese straws from the Cath Kidston Teatime baking book I told you about. I love cheese straws but I’m not overly fond of stinky Stilton. Fortunately these were quick and easy (thank goodness for ready made pastry!) and should keep us going a few days.
