Sometimes it feels that I’m always writing this post. My Monday Happy List feels a little like Groundhog Day – thankfully this is a nice post to write and a lovely way to mark the days which pass far too quickly.
We spent the first half of the week on the Isle of Wight which was lovely. When I asked the children what their favourite part of the holiday was, they said paddling in the pool shaped like the Isle of Wight. For once I was totally unprepared and, despite my pleas to the children paddle, of course they just jumped in fully clothed.
My sister looked after the children so we could enjoy a grown up night away at The George Hotel in Yarmouth. We spent the first night of married life at the Hotel so have very happy memories of it. Fortunately nothing had changed in the last 8 years and we had a great stay.
Whilst we were away we managed to re-visit some old favourite haunts as well as some new. I’d heard about Off The Rails and was keen to squeeze in a visit. It’s a lovely cafe in the old station buildings in Yarmouth, beautifully restored and with amazing views over the marshes.
A few weeks I got a new-to-me car. It’s lovely but the suspension has been getting noticeably worse so I too it to my local garage to see what was the problem. I was shocked to find the front brake pads were dangerously worn and the rear suspension coil spring had snapped. Fortunately it was covered by the Consumer Rights Act as I’d had it less than 3 months so I didn’t have to pay to get it fixed!
I’m so pleased that the beautiful weather has returned. After the children’s weekly swim lesson we spent the afternoon at a nearby park. We went prepared with bikes and scooters and it was the perfect way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon.
Have a great week!
