Last week was one of those really busy weeks with lots of mundane things. We had an after-school Doctor’s appointment, every member of the family had a hair cut and there were 2 trips to the Dentist. Thank goodness for fun things too though, my 6 year old received a new badge from Beavers and both kids tried karate for the first time. I love the fact they get to try new things, although I noticed there was an adult karate class too….
I sent and received a parcel for the Nana Company swap I recently took part in. My partner sent me a lovely handmade bag, pin cushion case and needle book which I write about soon.
My review of The Course of Love is proving to be a really popular post. Last week I also read the much smaller, but equally lovely, ‘Wordsmith’ by Janet Clare who is a maker designer. I’m trying to collect all her books and this oneĀ is about noticing and cherishing the simple things in life. It’s about love letters, little notes and finding pressed flowers in favourite books. Then bringing them together with beautiful fabrics to create a lasting cloth to be treasured by generations to come: a quilted memory to cherish. There’s a gorgeous range of fabrics to accompany the book too.
Did you hear about the new Orla Kiely range for Halfords, #OliveandOrange? The 33 piece range includes bikes, tents and camping equipment which sadly I have no need of. However I noticed a lovely picnic bag and rug that I knew we would use and my husband kindly bought them for me. They should arrive any day and I can’t wait to show them off here.
We had a lovely weekend, taking the children to see the Angry Birds film and then a trip to the West End to see the Clangers on Saturday. Thankfully yesterday was quieter so we’re all refreshed for the last week before half term.
Have a great week everyone!
