A few years ago I received the very sweet Merry and Bright mini quilt kit. This kit was from Pretty Fabrics and Trims who design the sweetest embroidery kits. Earlier this year you may remember I finished the Summer Sampler mini quilt, I started the ‘Cottage Garden Huswif’ kit (and put it away again) and then made a start on my Christmas crafting.
Merry and Bright mini quilt {Part 1}
This festive mini quilt, a little sampler of sorts, includes all my favourite things – Machine Piecing, Appliqué, Embroidery, English Paper Piecing (EPP) and Hand Quilting.
First of all I stitched the pre-printed panels. There was a bunch of mistletoe tied with a ribbon.
Then the words Merry & Bright.
And finally a wreath of green leaves with red berries.
Once I’d finished the three pre-printed pieces of fabrics I looked at the fabrics.
The kit contained the pattern with detailed instructions, plus all the fabrics, including pre-printed cotton/linen mix fabric for the embroidery elements, embroidery threads, English Paper Pieces, ribbon, trims, buttons, wadding, backing fabric and binding fabric.
The fabrics were quite hard to figure out which ones went where but I think I have them all ready to cut. I can’t wait to share my progress!
