Recently my 7 year old lost his first tooth. It wobbled and wobbled and I took him to the Dentist who gently pulled it out. I was pretty excited about this milestone as these seem to be few and far between the older your children gets.
He was given his tooth in a paper bag and went happily back to school. We had talked about the Tooth Fairy and he knew he had to keep his tooth safe until bedtime.
At bedtime he carefully placed the envelope containing the tooth on his bedside table. He wanted to place it under his pillow but I persuaded him that the Tooth Fairy might not be able to reach it when he was asleep.
I knew I wanted my sons’ first experience of the Tooth Fairy to be memorable so spent a happy hour browsing Pinterest for inspiration. I decided to make a mini envelope, just large enough to hold a £1 coin. I had bought a mini envelope template so picked some Star Wars paper and cut out an envelope.
It was just big enough to contain a little note. It was fun putting it all together for him to find!
Then I took away his tooth and replaced it with the little envelope and a sprinkling of pixie dust.
Needless to say he came straight in to see me the next morning. He was so excited that the Tooth Fairy had been and taken his tooth away. Two months later and he still has his little envelope, letter and one pound coin. He hasn’t wanted to spend it but I might have to encourage him to before they go out of circulation!

June 20, 2017 at 10:24 pmThis is such a cute idea! My parents used to leave £1 coins for me and my sisters each time we lost a tooth. It’s definitely something you still remember even when you grow up 🙂
